Fitzpatrick led Marshall in receptions and receiving yards last season.
So let me see if I understand this correctly:

So he went from Michigan State to a place like Marshall, and now OSU wants him? This guy should be mostly on the bench at OSU if he does commit. If he’s starting, then I think we have some massive problems.
It’s odd how many receivers we’re offering. Also it seems we are consistently offering guys who are 6’3 or taller. I wonder if that has something to do with the offense Meacham wants to run

Yes. But, we knew that at the end of last season and could have offered in the fall when the selection was better. It’s weird that we’ve made a flurry of offers this late in the spring.
These are depth guys. I think our starting group is going to be good. I don’t think this is a position of need, we just need bodies and if they end up being good all the better.
Shettron is our projected WR1. He had 12 catches for 245 yards on a team that went winless in conference. He’s currently hurt and not practicing indefinitely.
Where is your confidence that this will be a good group and the additions are just “depth pieces” coming from?
Meacham was announced hired Dec 13th so not much of the fall left but I don’t know perhaps there could have been time left to get receivers. Don’t recall if we offered anyone when he was first hired. Also I’m confused. Are the portal open and close dates a thing of the past? If not what are the current dates for the spring. Google tells me April but IDK.

Yeah that’s why I’m wondering if Meacham is skeptical of the WR room after seeing spring practice - or maybe he has a mold that he prefers which we don’t have.
There are two portals - one at the end of the season and one in the spring. It’s a mess

Oh, some of it is hype and vibes. At various times there have been nice flashes from Shettron and Freeman and Lofton. Lots of buzz around Shotomide-King and Griffiths. The Nebraska transfer looks good, fast. If a couple of those guys don’t live up to their potential I’d be more surprised than if all five guys did.
