Taking Ls before kickoff. Great.

He was taking Z’s before kickoff, not as a big of a loss as it looks

Good. If he needed to be dismissed, then we didn’t need/want him.

Explain. What did he get cut for?

Z’s = sleeping? and what kickoff?

In a different thread they said he was apparently literally taking a nap during a scrimmage and was repping with the 3rd and 4th team, just not a guy who fit our culture. Straight up did not work hard enough and did not want it enough

How does one sleep at practice? I mean, when I played in HS, we were constantly moving, doing something. So if he really was sleeping then he just didn’t care.

Hence the dismissal🤷🏼‍♂️ really was hoping it would work out, awesome potential there

And yeah agreed I played Center in HS and we could barely find the time to chill for a sec at all, dude must have been completely tuned out which is so sad

Guess who else took naps ON THE BENCH DURING GAMES?! The GOAT, Barry Sanders. Seems like a dumb reason to cut a guy.

Was probably several things that led to this especially attitude. Comparing Sanders to a nobody is a weak argument.

Kind of like Gundy during the game on the sidelines.

Ya know they said Barry Sanders took naps at halftime. But with his numbers nobody complained

One of many to learn the culture change.

These are not entitled baby superstars anymore, they are paycheck earning employees.

Literally everyone else would get fired for sleeping on the job in lieu of anything job related.

Glad to see the leadership hold them to a higher standard. Man, how you gonna nap yourself outta playing football?

Ooof.

Oh well we’re done, lost a blue chip player, SEASONS OVER ! Probably lose every game without him. We don’t have a chance. FIRE GUNDY!

Hey champ,

So your opinion is that a guy taking 3rd team reps can take naps at practice? If a future Heisman winner, future college football HoFer, future NFL rushing leader, future NFL HoFer, possibly the best to ever do it takes a nap, I can accept he doesn’t have much to learn from coach’s halftime pep talk and is probably pretty close to maximizing his potential. A former blue chip player finds himself 3rd string on a defense that lost 10 of its 11 starters taking a nap at a scrimmage probably should be focused on improving himself.

I just think there are more appropriate reasons for kicking a kid off the team. I’m guessing there’s more to it than just napping.

If gundy was the coach when Barry was taking naps at halftime he would have kicked him off the team as well and they would have only won 1 game that year. Gundy needs to go coach highschool.

This is not comparable at all, he was clearly the best player in the nation and did his work every day when asked. Patterson was just not putting effort in at practice and was being outplayed by many DB’s consistently. Apparently also was not paying attention and acting lazy at meetings. Barry was busy breaking records
