Cassity has a few OSU ties.
I like it. Coach Morris needs to bring everyone he trust.
Not loving this hire. Love the Morris hire, but not sure this guy’s going to lead the D to where it needs to be. Would rather keep Bowen and give him a chance. Hope I’m wrong.
Although on paper UNT defense did improve from last year, watching them get torched by Tulane last night doesn’t instill confidence. Hope it works.
In all fairness, it was offensive turnovers that cost them against Tulane
There with you - defense didn’t inspire confidence. Perhaps it was player performance due to playing a better or hungrier defense? Perhaps not used to being punched in the mouth? Glass will improve any players and hopefully they can IDENTIFY quality in the portal.
Let me ask, there when the game turned and tulane jumped a route, then blitzed causing a negative play, and then there was another play it looked like tulane knew the play - did anyone else wonder if tulane was stealing signals? It crossed my mind.
Just curious.
Hopefully the gm guru is worth his salt and brings in some dudes. All that metrics talk had me thinking about that baseball movie with Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams…

P.S. Not sure about Bowen - his history with that terrible KU team didn’t instill confidence (wasnt sold on Meacham either). Bowen implied coaching high school and walking through the install of the oSu offense for this year gave him more insight. Perhaps? Tackling was better. Not sure (old dog and new tricks?).
Go Pokes!!!
Not trying to be a naysayer but what gives anyone any confidence in Glass outside of 2021 at this point? Could he also be the source of some of the issues we have had in the trenches?
I have no idea if Glass is any good or not, but I’ve not been impressed with our physicality along the lines, and we always have tons of injuries. I think he could be replaced for half the money.
I’m thinking GLASS will not be retained. The highest paid S&C Coach in the land.
I’ve mentioned this before but I don’t think that was the case this year. Perhaps someone with actual degrees and experience in the field, if any are out there, could chime in on the theory that Glass is the reason for all the injuries in the past.
As per RG, someone posted this on a different site:
What stood out to me was this snippet (which is exactly what i wondered about:
“According to Glass, one of the biggest shifts in recent years is the rise of athlete migration. With the transfer portal in college athletics and even high school students moving between schools, coaches have less time than ever with each athlete. These compressed timeframes force hard decisions. Olympic lifts and technical movements may not be practical when time is of the essence. In these cases, Glass emphasizes simplicity, efficiency, and building fundamental movement patterns.”
It seems logical that the transfer portal affects training. I wonder what percentage of injuries come from portal players not used to the weight room.
With all the trolls on these sites, it seems more like a talking campaign to oust a big advantage oSu has in the football program.

Now let’s see the rest of the staff. Portal is opening up soon and offers need to be made. Plus, I would like to see who they keep on the roster.
This was helpful and provided some good context. I was generally curious if RG was a contributor to the decline, but obviously, he believes the timeline (the calendar) with the portal is the contributing factor. Thanks!
I question Glass results. I don’t know anything about injuries, but why could OSU not make much room for Gordon in 2024? I realize playcalling was a factor but we did not get a good push either.
Well there could be other reasons. The underlying talent is a major one. There is only so much a coach can do.
I feel like the “Body by Glass” idea is/was great for incoming freshman, but as has been alluded to, when we get guys in from the portal that we need to play and hopefully make an impact immediately, jumping straight into “Body by Glass” world has possibly contributed to injuries, I’m thinking about the bigger guys in particular…
But, that same line helped Gordon win the Doak Walker the year before. Why the dramatic decline?
Yes….sometimes coaches that get lazy and complacent become their own worst nightmare.
Scheme and predictability? Look what happened when oSu changed blocking schemes the year before, rushing took off - it was, as someone said and appropriately IMHO, “smoke and mirrors” but it turned the year around. Other variables like recruiting, etc. Then other coaches figured out the new blocking scheme and it tanked the next year.
It’s moot now, RG has been reassigned. It would be great if RG could mentor the new hire!
