I would have much like to give him a chance over hiring Nardo, he was under several coordinators and one like me might assume he was ready with all that knowledge.

That’s good Todd Grantham is aloud to bring in guys to help,which didn’t seem Nardo go the same luxury. This hire cluld be a good blessing,hopefully they can hit the portal before Spring ball begins

I’m kind of hoping that we move Joe Bob back to D-Line and let Randolph go. Either that or let Dede coach OLBs (like his most recent job) and let Joe Bob coach ILBs.

I still think they should’ve elevated Joe Bob to DC after Knowles left and let him keep coaching Knowles’ scheme (maybe with Duffie or Hammerschmidt as the passing game DC). But Gundy keep doubling down on wanting to go 3-3-5 while ignoring that the Big12 has shifted completely from an air raid conf. to a pro-style run-first conf.

I mean Nardo didn’t even know anyone at the D1 level - he’d only coached lower levels. That being said, Derek Mason didn’t have that autonomy either and he definitely had connections throughout D1.

Jim Knowles didn’t bring any new assistants in that I know of. I saw in The Oklahoman that OSU would be hiring Ryan Osborn as DL coach.

Ha, beat me to it. I was thinking it was some real outside-the-box thinking for OSU to hire a defense coach as offensive coordinator.

I’m a defensive minded guy, I guess a good defensive coordinator knows what offenses can kill defenses lol :joy: especially his own but must prepared :rofl:. Sounds like a philosophy or proverb :skull:.

Gundy may have decided to cut out the middle man and go back to being the Offensive Coordinator officially in addition to being head coach.

Yea Ryan Osborn as DL coach so it doesn’t like Joe Bob Clements will be coming back unless it’s an some small role

There isn’t a limit on coaches this year I don’t think. Basically you could hire a coach for every player. I hope Joe Bob has a spot though

I’m ready to see the Go-Go offense in Stillwater. If not, then Jeff Monken needs to be our new OC so we can keep our defense off the field (hopefully :crossed_fingers:t2:).
