Sad news out of Lubbock that could affect the Big 12 title picture come the fall.
Good to see heās getting help. Hope it works. Sadly, weāre going to see more cases like this in the near future.
Ah yes. Gambling. Yet another negative change to the college sports landscape.
Hereās a great idea! Lets pay college players millions of dollars and simultaneously legalize gambling in the same sports in which they participate! What could possibly happen?
Oh donāt worry. The NCAA has rules that will keep it from being a problem! [insert eye roll here]
What about non-gambling, gambling? The futures markets are now legal in all 50 states because its ānotā gambling, but rather federally regulated (CFTC) futures contracts. Thatās what Kalshi (or whatever its called) is. So because its not āgamblingā does that also circumvent the NCAAās āgamblingā rules?
I donāt know if that puts the Tech game in play for us, but it couldnāt hurt.
They gave a dude 5 mil that has a gambling addiction?
Wonder if any of the $5m was paid up-front? For that matter, if any of these NIL agreements provide for upfront payments and how Athletic Dept and Boosters are protecting themselves in cases like these or injury? Surely situations like this are not overlooked?
They paid half up front. The rest was put on a horse āhe had a feeling aboutā.
Would tt have time to buy another qb? It would be hilarious if they tampered with Ohio State or Georgiaās quarterback. Talk about a hissyfit from Herbstreet and e$pn⦠![]()

Well the portal is closed so I think the only way TT could get a new QB is if they were to withdraw from their university and enroll at Tech. An example wouldāve been Jake Retzlaff from last year.
I remembered that situation but not the details. Thanks.

I wonder if he took the under on Tech for season wins before the news broke.
