Why couldn’t we have this kind of leniency when Dez was still around?

Just another reason why many kids have no character and a long list of other things because there is absolutely no accountability and no suffering the consequences of your actions. When you teach kids this what do you believe is going to happen? No repercussions = no way to build character and an out of control society.

Was that a federal judge or state? Can Oklahoma bar him as a state? Can the Big XII apply their own sanctions? Vacate all of Cincinnati’s wins, and let tt see what is coming.

There must be an answer to this outrageous ruling

If anyone should’ve gotten into trouble w/ the Dez thing it was MEion Sanders. He was trying to hook up his friend to be Dez’ agent. They punished us and Dez just because he was lying about that meeting. Big whoop. oSu should’ve sued the National Capitalist$ Again$t Athlete$ to set the precedent. Now they ain’t doing squat by letting it all fall apart, from NIL to now allowing players to bet on their own team. What a JOKE!

Local judge in Lubbock, LOL, “Lubbock judge Ken Curry”. Check hi$ bank account, but probably Cody Campbell and them set him up w/ an offshore account. About as corrupt as the U$G!

This might seriously be my straw that breaks the camel’s back. I’m so freaking disgusted with college athletics.

While we differ on the current level of enjoyment of the college landscape…Agree completely that this could be the watershed moment the game has needed

It’s the problem I have about the way college sports has been drifting within even the last decade. Something happens and people don’t like it and the response is, “it’s all about money,” as if that explains it or it’s good even if it does explain it. Well, here we are. If the only thing that matters in decision-making is money, then this is fine. Texas Tech gets to put their “best product” out there and probably make the playoff again. Sorsby gets his money. All semblance of order and integrity–whatever faint shred was left–that the NCAA enforced is dead. The only rule is what makes the most money.

The only way it changes is when people stop watching. People want the conferences to step in, but why would they unless people stop watching? They’re cashing checks from the ad revenue we’re generating while complaining about it. I could see something being driven from the gambling infrastructure if the sport becomes corrupt enough that they won’t place bets on it anymore and that forces some kind of reform, but thay ultimately boils down to the risk of losing viewership.

I agree on the problems that the current system has created/continues to create. We just disagree on how it is as popular as ever and will continue to be. Thats ok. We dont have to re-litigate that side.

I agree to an extent on people stopping watching being a change. But, that isnt going to happen in your lifetime or mine. Its as popular now as its ever been, and the numbers prove that. It has warts. has issues that need addressed. That is true. But it is also true that its still flourishing. As for “why would the conferences step in”. The Big 12 has a vested interest in the league and its entirety. Yormark is charged with representing all of the entities in the Conf. Not just Tech. Thats why the Big 12 can (likely will) step in. The question is just to what extent? This thing is going to get pretty interesting in the Big 12 circles.

Why do they need to be addressed if it’s wildly popular and will continue to be so throughout my lifetime? You aren’t going to fix what is doing what it’s supposed to do: make money.

Maybe… if teams get hot enough about it to leave and break up the conference, but if not, why? Tech is your best chance to win a nat and give your conference a powerful team on the playoff stage. That makes everyone money.

“Why do they need to be addressed if it’s wildly popular and will continue to be so throughout my lifetime?” You’re a smart guy. It’s wildly popular. It also has things that need fixing. Every league, every year, makes efforts to tweak/improve their product. A wildly popular league can be flourishing and have room for improvement. Both can and are true.

Again, you’re a smart guy. Yormark is running the league to protect the league. Not just Tech. It’s the same with any commissioner. If he doesn’t protect the masses against the one…..he’ll be out of a job and/or the Conf collapses. Pretty simple. Goodell didnt want to punish the Patriots, but he had to. I UNDERSTAND THERE ARE MAJOR DIFFERENCES. But its the same premise. Yormark will do what his members want. If the league is fine with it…so is Yormark.
