Can OSU again fight off late Texas advances?
This would hurt. Very athletic.
Well all I know is that, according to the all knowing trolls, it will be Gundy’s fault if this Texaskid takes the Texas offer
Just win the Big 12 and we will be alright.
Hope we keep him. Helluva an athlete. Didn’t he also average 20 ppg in basketball too ? I would ask him where they were when he wasn’t ranked.
This has been the prayer for the last 11 years. Maybe this will be the year. If not, maybe 2023 or after OU and Texas leave even though they haven’t been in the way last year or this year. Heck maybe before Kansas wins three like Baylor has.
How is kansas going to win. You got mat and dave win them.
Just look at where Baylor has been 17 years ago and where they were last year.
I have always thought that part of Texas downfall was recruiting and committing so early with high school athletes and part of our success in recruiting classes out performing their rankings was simply genetic maturity patterns.
By the end of my high school freshman year, I was six feet tall and I am six feet and a half inch now, over 40 years later. In the meantime, 3 of my 28 classmates whom I towered over in junior high grew 5 to 8 inches AFTER high school and put on 30 to 50 pounds naturally!! Texas was recruiting early maturing kids, while I suspect that Gundy was asking the parents “when did YOU stop growing??” a lot and getting those players who would develop a year or two (or three) into their college careers.
GO POKES!!!
Your an idiot you cant have all your special teams winning titles. 2 of them got to lose. Go back under your house.
I think the one thing that can help us in the recruiting department is the transfer portal. Sure I would like to get a bunch of high caliber high school kids that would stay at OSU and mature in development, but that’s largely going to depend on where we are 2-3 years from now.
If we can get to a point where we can attract the best talent from good G5 programs or middle of the road P5 programs we won’t necessarily need to have great recruiting classes from the high school level. Of course, there are a variety of things that can affect our ability to get players from the transfer portal.
You also have to try your best to convince the best talent you have from going to the BB schools as well. So it really becomes a give and take relationship when dealing with the transfer portal. Hopefully we can establish a national logo over the next couple of years and attract higher caliber recruits to help combat what we do lose in the transfer portal as well. This is all just my opinion of course.
We got to get a better nil going to compete. The texas schools are give 25k to even walkons.
It wont matter if its hs or portal.
This is not gundy’s strong suit.
Yes. Which is why I said it depends on a variety of things. Hopefully they get this NIL crap under control. There really needs to be limitations and closed loop holes on what a program is authorized to do.
How is this Gundy’s fault. You think gundy is the only coach who has to fend of bb like texas and uo. Now we got nil going. You show how small you are.
That is need but until that, 5 years down the road, we got to play ball
The goons say they have 10-12 million committed to the NIL yearly. Bad as they look they need it. Seriously does anyone know how much we have to offer a kid ? Daton gets a new truck, don’t know the details but he’s an elite wrestler. We need it for football and basketball
There are supposed to.changes to the NIL after this year but I think it’s already got out of hand. They won’t do anything to the BB just hammer the others
In the last 2 months our commit and a guy who is warm on us have got texas offers both rankings numbers went up.
Guess we will see if money wins out. A quarter a million for Texas OL and they aren’t very good if it wasn’t for the running back
