There wasn’t a preseason poll in the B12 for football? How can the B12 tell the media not to have poll? Why wouldn’t they do it anyway?
Media outlets are free to conduct their own Big 12 preseason polls. It’s just the official Big 12 preseason poll, conducted by the conference, was discontinued. It was done because of happened last year, when Arizona State won the Big 12 championship after being picked last in the preseason poll.
This is nothing new. The Big Ten doesn’t have an official preseason football poll.
