Just a monster! Those years as a Cowboy our legendary - the last 2 especially. His post oSu career makes me pretty sad though. I hope he gets it, or keeps it - whatever the case may be, all together and has a great life.

GO POKES!

See, it’s articles (and stats) like this that make me laugh whenever comparisons are made to some of our other greats. Washington, Wallace, Stewart, Presley, etc… all great WRs. But no one has lit up the NFL like Blackmon was in the process of doing. Ignore any recency bias - this dude was on a different level.

Oh what could have been in the NFL, but I hope he enjoys his day and enjoys life !!!

I mostly agree with you but….what if Weeden was throwing to Dez Bryant or Rashaun Woods or Hart Lee Dykes?

Blackmon really messed up a great opportunity.

I’d put Dez up there with Blackmon. The other two guys were a bit before my time. I know the legends, but I didn’t see them in person.

Hart Lee was 6’4” 220 -225 ( which was huge at the time) He wasn’t blazing fast. He ran a 4.67 at combine, but he was just as physical as Dez or Blackmon. At the time there were lots of Corners under 5’10” and he could just exploit them. Very athletic

Woods was grace and finesse. He had amazing body control and ran superb routes. He made guys fall down on double moves. He was 4.5 forty. 39 vertical. Great hands.

Google some of their highlights and watch them. They’re worth seeing. While you’re at it watch some Barry Sanders, stuff you have never seen before. He turned the brutal NFL line of scrimmage into a game of tag.

Hart Lee messed a knee up didn’t he that kept him from excelling in the league didn’t he ? Not as fast as Blackmon , don’t think I saw Blackmon caught from behind …. The Stanford game they never put doubles on him much even knowing where the ball was going

Yes, drafted by the Patriots. I think he blew his knee and never really recovered from it.
