On Oregon’s speed, Flores’ performance and more.
“To be honest with you, we have a lot of new guys, and we’re still working together from a staff standpoint and players standpoint, so I don’t know that I necessarily have to do that. What I think is important for our staff now is next week’s practice and then being able to look at, OK, here’s what we did wrong as coaches, and then here’s where we need to improve as players. And then some of it could be a skill set. We have to look at all three of those things.”
This is exactly it. Maybe midseason we’ll be in a different place, but this was a scheduled beatdown. I would have hoped for better, but we’re still a cobbled together team right now.
Excuses.
69-3
“I got shot in the leg. I ran the race as hard as I could, but I just couldn’t do it.”
“Excuses. Last place.”
1.) What would be an acceptable outcome?
2.) You can call it an excuse, but what could we have done to not lose that game by four scores?
3.) What makes it an excuse and not an explanation? Did he take the responsibility? Yes. Did he say what he’s going to do to improve? Yes. Did he explain the problem? Yes. When someone asks to explain what happened and you explain it, why is that an excuse?

Cowboys Eager to ‘Make a Name for Ourselves’ in Possibly Biggest Underdog Game of Gundy Era
Mission accomplished.
Yea probably not how they envisioned it but yea we did get seen nationally yesterday.
You’re one of the select few naive people on here that still believe in this nonsense, it’s one thing if they would’ve went to Oregon and lost 45-21. It’s another when you lose 69-3 and show you’re not even good enough to be a top three team in the Big Sky.
I don’t think we’ll lose to Tulsa. However, it wouldn’t surprise me either if we did. Future Gary Patterson is on its way. You keep giving your excuses though while we sit off to the side and laugh .
At least Gary left a pretty talented roster behind. Our cupboard is going to be bare.
