This game makes me nervous. They’re not going to be scared and fully expecting to win.

It should scare every osu fan. Gundy better have reversed how he’s gotten his team ready in the first 3 games is all I can say.

I would not be surprised if we lost this game. I know that Gundy and the team are not overlooking SDS. SDS could probably be a title contender if it were in the Big 12. They may have the best QB in all of college. These SDS and NDS teams are always loaded and know how to win and win by huge margins. They always play tough, hard nosed defense as well. We get to see some of their games here in MN.

Go Pokes!

Although I think the Jackrabbits are a good team, I think the Cowboys out talent them in the trenches and win 41-24. Gronkowski keeps them in the game a bit longer, but our team speed pulls away in the 3rd qtr and there is no drama in the 4th.

And open up the playbook instead of going base with 10~12 plays as per normal for the non-conference early games. I can see us taking an L if they do that. USA took us behind the woodshed for crying out loud.

We are notorious for slow starts, but I’m gonna say that this team comes out with a convincing win–17 points. We’ve got more talent and experience pretty much across the board. I know they’re a good FCS program, but if we can’t handle SDSU, we’re likely not going to have the kind of season we’ve been anticipating.

So they play to win and not to lose?

I bet Holder scheduled this for a few reasons and one of them was to have us ready from the jump .

If this game was truly scheduled 8 years ago like Gundy claims then I doubt it.

Wouldn’t that have been near the thick of the T. Boone/holder Vs. Gundy beef though ?

I’m still sticking to my 27-20 prediction here. If Gundy has taught me anything in the last few years it’s that we’ll find a way to play down to the level of the competition with an FCS school, and barely squeak out a home win against such a school. Happened with Missouri State and Central Arkansas. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if we happen to lose.

Unfortunately I think OSU starts 0-1. Gundy’s teams almost always start out slow and unprepared. They also almost always fall short of high expectations.

Then theyll go on a tear, get back in playoff talk and make the Big XII title game, only to fumble that, too.

10-2 with Ls to SDSU and some bottom feeder conference foe, followed by a loss in the title game.

If we lose, either the OC, DC, or HC (or all 3) should get walking papers during next Monday’s press conference. And I don’t mean that as shade to SDSU. But OSU is being given the chance to take the reins of the Big 12 Conference with OU and UT leaving, and if we crap the bed against an FCS foe (even one as good as SDSU), then its clear that our coaching staff isn’t capable of taking that mantle and should be replaced.

Yea but the Jackrabbits weren’t as good 8 years ago and I doubt that Boone/Holder could have predicted their success the last two years.

I’m not as optimistic. If we lose to SDSU we will likely be 9-3 at best. The only good thing is that the loss to SDSU will not affect on our ability to get into the CC game. Don’t have a clue how many conference losses we can have and still make the CC game. Again I’m just guessing but A loss to SDSU will likely keep us out of a at large bid if we don’t win the CC, could be wrong on that though.

The only way a Big12 team gets into the playoff without being the conference champ is to have gone 12-0 and lost in the conference title game. A two loss team (1 reg season and CC game) isn’t getting in over the 4th best SEC or Big10 team, not with the $$$ committee. So if the Pokes blow this game, then winning the conference will be their only path to the playoff.
