On Grantham’s experience at both the college and pro levels, and what that means at OSU.

I’m honestly meh on this hire, but then I was meh when Knowles was hired so I guess will wait and see.

Honest question: had Todd Grantham ever set foot in Oklahoma before being hired by OSU?

What does that matter? Knowles was the same way.

So let me see if I’m understanding this correctly:

Went went and hired a DL coach as our DC from the Saints who:

  1. Got fired from Florida.

  2. Coached at Florida under a coach who was fired.

  3. Who coached under Saban at Michigan state, and then, wasn’t allowed to even have an actual coaching position at Bama in 2022?

Saban didn’t even give this dude an actual position. Anyone here wonder why? Guy hasn’t been a DC in three years either. I’m not feeling real confident about this hire. Oh well, I guess it’s better than a D2 guy. I’ll give him a chance. Just not sure a 58 year old has been is the answer.

Yeah, not sure what this has to do with anything at all.

Look, I get it. I’m as likely to bash on Gundy and the coordinators as anybody. But not before there’s reason to.

Probably doesn’t matter. But as a 59-year-old guy, I wonder about a 58-year-old guy who has zero history in this region being successful on the recruiting trail, keeping in mind we are now chasing the Colorado standard in recruiting.

Well let’s look at it positively, he can’t be any worse than Nardo. Bless his heart….

As a 69 year old guy 59 is still young

Gundy must have found this guy on Groupon or something.

Yeah, he’s similar to Knowles in that he’s been around for awhile. However, Knowles was not fired from Duke when he was hired at OSU. Grantham was just fired from the Saints and was fired from Florida before that. Just very “meh.”

I can’t find anything saying he was fired by the Saints. Where’d you see that?

He wasn’t fired but he was basically demoted when the HC was fired and the interim HC took over.

Florida has been bent ever since Urban Meyer left. Florida has fired a bunch since then. Grantham has had some good defenses over the years. You would know that if you bothered to look.

nardo
This was the best thing about Nardo. If you don’t get it, you’re too young and know nothing about “Taxi.”

With the Gundy contract restructured, the plan now is to rebrand the school as the Oklahoma A&M Aggies and play football as a Division II team.

Since the portal system is not mandatory in Division II, allegiance to the team is assured. No more fuss with money schemes to attract and retain talent is required. New rivals like Ouachita Baptist, Central Oklahoma, Kutztown, Slippery Rock are certain to excite the dwindling fan base and donors. A number of wins is likely assured. A few stellar players may reach NFL glory, as do some Division II stars.

The school’s current thought procession for hiring any football coach suggests the school is quite satisfied with anything marked down, bargain-basement.

As a premier light of brain coach and loather of sassy fans, Gundy is a perfect fit for this exciting quest into the dimension of Division II football. Students might find education fun again; XX sports might enjoy an exponential resurgence of fan interest.

Though not a god, and judged not quite obsolete by our exhausted leaders of the Board of Regents, Gundy says he is a man—an obnoxious and tired man best suited for Division II football.

Go Aggies.

I wouldn’t be against this. The school name would then match up with my dad’s fraternity mug. Now the rest of the diatribe gives a sense of disappointment. Sorry to hear that.

He was fired from his job as D-line coach. Technically, he was “reassigned,” but we all know what that means.
