Some of the reasons Oregon is such a big favorite over OSU.
I really fear OSU will never get back to the consistent success Gundy produced over 20 years. The reason for my pessimism is the cold, hard reality of money. Players these days are mainly motivated by money and can I start at your program. If I can’t start and can’t make big money, I’m outta here! Even a blueblood like Alabama lost their coach because he could no longer build a program. It was obvious he could only buy players instead of developing great talent and he just was no longer interested in that new scenario. OSU just cannot compete financially with the big boys of college football. That’s not Gundy’s fault, it’s just the reality of not having a massive, wealthy donor base.
What about before NIL?
Hey champ,
Well, numbskull, this is what he said about before NIL:
So, your rapid fire response that you always throw out is out of place and even more retarded than usual. You could be a bot, though. If so, please fix your artificial unintelligence.
20 years and one conference title is what you consider consistency? You guys fear something that Gundy has already proven he could do. Which is finish 0-9 in the conference. He did that returning the second most starters in the country. Not a new team. We had a billionaire donor before NIL and it didn’t seem to make a difference. Even Les Miles proved he could get OSU to a bowl game with no money during his time.
That short term memory you people possess is your achilles heel. I guarantee you, if you play your cards right, that a G5 coach could come into Stillwater and give you the 7-6 consistency you require. Use your brain.
Hey champ,
1.) I wasn’t even cosigning on with his statement. I was just saying your comment was completely non sequitur to what he said because you’re a troll just waiting to interject your garbage one-liners.
2.) Your selective memory is your Achilles Heel, but I think it’s intentional because you’re a dishonest, worthless bag of crap.
Yet, nearly everything I mentioned in my reply was a fact. Just because YOU WANT to claim someone is being dishonest, doesn’t mean they are .
My 3 thoughts that nobody aaked for.
1)Oregon doesn’t see OSU as a threat. They don’t need to hide their playbooks or protect their players. Oregon only has one game on their schedule that they would circle as tough. That’s Penn St. on Sept. 27th. They’re not looking ahead but the Cowboy staff got a full game’s worth of material on the Ducks.

The QB comparison: Dante Moore is not much different than Zane. They’re from the same class and they’re built the same. They’re both 6’3” and Zane is listed at 215 and Moore is 205 lbs. The glaring difference is experience. Moore was 11-9 TD:Int ratio in 9 games as a freshman. Albeit on a bad UCLA team but also Chip Kelly as a coach. We don’t know how Zane will do in college but we do know that Moore has a history of throwing the ball to the other team. Oregon has to hope that their turnover prone qb is better and we have to hope that our qb isn’t prone to throwing to the wrong jersey.

The point spread was 17 before week one. Oregon smoked their fcs and we didn’t. It’s all juiced because of style points. Gundy has never cared about style points. 2 years ago, Gundy waited for 4 games before unleashing the Ollie Gordon run game. The UT-Martin gameplan was vanilla on plain toast bland. Sure, Oregon has more 4 and 5 stars than we do. So did Texas for all of those years that we beat them. In fact, the last time we faced a roster this talented was Texas in the Big 12 champion game. The difference between then and now, Texas had a season’s worth of film to study, and Oregon doesn’t. 28.5 point underdog is laughable and insulting.
You make a ton of solid points. The closer we get to gametime, the less pessimistic I feel. I think we cover the spread. Maybe even shock the world and win. Tomorrow is my dad’s 70th birthday, so it could happen, right?!
Yea…that was incredibly stupid too. I could’ve told you in 2022 that OG should’ve been starting over Dominic Richardson. True Freshman or not, OG had flashes of success and simply couldn’t get on the field to show that talent because his HC thinks seniority means something until it doesn’t. As for the game plan being vanilla. I heard this same excuse last season against South Dakota State only to watch the team finish out 3-9. So I don’t buy that at all.
He’s a bot , troll whatever you call them
Never went to school here
Oregon 59 - Montana State 13
In 2012 OSU 84 - Savannah State 0
In 2013 OSU 59 – Lamar 3
2015 OSU 69 - UTSA 14
2016 OSU 61 - Southeastern Louisiana 7
Don’t believe everything you read on here go look it up. As far as style points, Gundy has always scored every point he could. Just been to many times Gundy’s team couldn’t score points.
I never said we haven’t scored a lot of points on teams. But no, Gundy doesn’t score every point he can. He has lost games because he took his foot off the gas. I present Central Michigan 2016.
He lost that game because Cooper Rush was a lot better QB than Mason Rudolph that day. A lot.
Hey champ,
He lost that game because an entire officiating crew didn’t know the rules to the game they were officiating.
Hey champ,
Oh, I see your confusion because you’re also simple as well as dishonest. You’re like Gollum or a small child who grew up on the streets.
Ok, well, honest people also acknowledge facts that don’t support their opinion. They don’t find the most underhanded way to slice up history and data sets until it appears to support their position. Politicians and lawyers do that sort of thing, but 1.) they do it more cleverly than you and 2.) they are notoriously dishonest. I hope this helps, you feckless fool.
