Transfer Portal Tracker 2024: Who’s Coming and Who’s Going for Oklahoma State Football

How about you going and contributing a million or two instead of running your mouth. You are good at running your mouth but I haven’t seen contributions you’ve made. Keyboard warriors are a dime a dozen

How about asking a coach not to go winless in the conference when he returns the most production? NIL donations weren’t even a factor this season, and he still found a way to go winless in the conference :man_shrugging:.

That’s another fact you’re dumb about. We had little NIL money this year. See you don’t know anything but to flap your jaws. They b should have banned you when everyone wanted you negative chit out Grow the hell up, you can’t have a normal back nd forth

Maybe you should pay attention a little closer. When you return almost all your starters from a 10 win team. Then NIL has little to no impact on who’s playing on the field. That’s on Gundy, and not on NIL.

Ban me because you don’t like facts?

Everyone knew we needed upgrades at a lot of positions even making the CC but Gundy didn’t That’s on him
You can state your opinion but not 500 times of the same chit You’re so warped in the head you cant think of anything but one line to post
Most don’t reply to what you post is because they have you blocked. They get tired of your negative chit

What positions have we actually improved? Is 121 the very best we can do?

It’s not my opinion. It’s a fact. Exactly what positions did he need to improve on before this season? How does a 10-win team with the same players get terribly worse the next year? You guys have still yet to give any kind of viable answer on why we got dead last in the conference with practically the same team and staff.

Hey champ,

You cannot have it both ways. Either:

A.) Gundy should have won with a returning roster OR…
B) He should have recruited big out of the portal.

You cannot have both complaints because they are at odds and therefore absurd to make both claims. Pick which one you’re going to run with. You can’t sit around on your ample rump and talk about how Gundy makes these “obvious” mistakes that everyone watching sees but he refuses to fix when you make opposing claims. Did he fail because he squandered the sizable talent pool he had or was the talent pool insufficient and he failed to diagnose that and recruit?

If he was lacking talent as you have been saying lately, I think you’d also have to give a lot of credit for coaching that same insufficient talent to a CCG the year before. If he wasn’t lacking talent, you need to be quiet about hitting the portal harder.

Mike just now said he made mistakes on positioning. I’m just simply asking what those positions are, and if it’s true, then why didn’t we hit the portal for those specific positions?

If you would’ve paid close attention to my argument. It was purely that Gundy needs the portal to be successful in terms of next season and maybe here on out. I’ve been consistent on asking WHY a team that returned the most production in the conference only won three games.

I never said he should’ve hit the portal big last season. Just giving an example of what the portal did for ASU. Of course, Dillingham has actual coaches on his staff. Not payroll bandits. Gundy also didn’t hit the portal big after the 2021 season. This past season was ultimately a coaching failure. You can’t convince me that if we won ten games with practically the same roster that the blame can be on the players.

Just like I can give Dunn credit for only scoring 16 points on 8 trips to the red zone in 2021 as well. Just like I can give Dunn credit for averaging a measly 15 ppg the last six games of the season in 2022, or just like I can give Dunn credit for scoring 7 points against South Bama in 2023. Perhaps I could even give him credit for averaging 5 points in the first half of our first six games of 2024. He’s been far more ineffective as an OC and should’ve been gone after the 2022 season. So is it purely an insufficient talent problem? Or perhaps is it a coaching problem that Gundy refused to address until NOW being forced by the BoR?

Can we please stop this? Go create a thread and do this. Please. Arguing and doing this same song and dance is garbage. You all are way smarter than this I know it. Can we just talk about who else we want to get and about the ones they have offered? Without this continuing? Jesus.

Tell your boy Joe to cut the crap of bashing every move mad for 20 years ago
I’m done

Honest question: Do you expect him to ‘correct it’? And what, in your estimation, does correcting it look like? I’ve been clear, my expectations are conference titles, and I’m on record in my belief that Gundy won’t win another. But I’m curious, what is your expectation and level of acceptable performance for OSU going into next year or even beyond?

You’re probably right. I just like pointing out discrepancies is all :man_shrugging:.

That’s easy. As long as it’s 7-6 or better with ANY bowl appearance. No need to ask him. That’s what I’ve gathered for the last two years on here. Anytime he talks about being top 10 in wins the last ten years it means he doesn’t care about conference titles. Otherwise, he’d be arguing for more of them like some of us.

Heychamp,

The answer is simple. Gundy should have won, period. I don’t care if he does it through the portal or does it with returning talent. How or why he failed to do so is just making excuses.

Hey champ,

Naw, that’s ignorant and not even the point and also circular. Why should he have won? Because he had a lot of returning starters… ok, now we’re back to the question of if they were good or not. If they weren’t, he shouldn’t have won. Yes, he should pretty much always win more than 3-9, but he does. This was what? His 20th season? He’s had two losing seasons. In a league with parity and one with mostly parity and two big bluebloods previously, do you think we should have won as much as we have?

Try to name me a coach in recent years that’s returned practically his entire production and found a way to not win a single conference game.

Even if they were truly a 7-5 team last season that happened to get to 10 wins. The fact he didn’t win a single conference game, while returning most of his roster, should probably tell you something about the coaching picks and decisions people have been complaining about since the 2022 season.

It’s amazing to me how everyone else (ASU, K State, and Baylor) can seem to get it together and actually win this conference. However, Gundy seems to be one of the oddballs that can’t do this. It’s not like this is something new. He’s had three really good chances of winning the conference with a senior laden team since 2011, and he’s pooped all over himself in all three chances.

Texas has pretty much sucked outside the first 4-5 years in Gundy’s career at OSU. So yes, I should expect him to win against a team that sucks. Nobody here ever expected him to beat OU all the time. However, when he’s been the favorite against OU he’s 1-4 against them. If OSU would’ve won the conference in 2013 and 2021 I doubt most people on here would be giving him much hell about it. He was also a favorite in both of those years.

In fact, Gundy is 0-5 in CC games since 2011. You guys kept using every excuse in the book even when we’ve pointed out to you the times he’s more often than not found ways snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Gundy is only as good as the assistants he hires. I’m not sure that hiring 60 year old men that have been previously fired will work out in our favor. It seems like we’re going back to a model that everyone else has gotten away from.

What I will say is that I’d rather have them than Dunn and Nardo for sure. Someone in here said that one of the new conference teams would win the conference before Gundy ever does again. Looks like he was exactly correct. Even coaches with previously bad records have found ways to turn it around and win the conference. Gundy has yet to prove this since 2011.

But has he won? He’s got one title in 20 years. You talk about not having losing seasons. Is that your bar of satisfaction? As long as we make a bowl game, you’re happy? Sorry, but my bar is higher than that. We can go round and round on this point, which is pointless. But to close, I do find it weird that your monicker is “heychamp”, given you don’t really care if OSU is a champ.

They’ll never answer that question. Because it’ll actually hold the person of the program accountable for screwing the chances he did have when they were there. They would rather make excuses for why a coach can’t do something, rather than address the facts and evidence to why he SHOULD be able to do something. ASU hadn’t won a conference title outright since 1996 before joining the conference this season.

I’ve already pointed out the fact that three other teams currently in the conference have actually won it. Two of those teams more than once since 2011. You’ll NEVER get a direct answer from them. It’s always an excuse when Gundy could realistically have three conference titles since 2011. They’ll always revert back to the total wins and completely ignore any relevant trophies which are the catalyst for building tradition and sustaining a championship culture. Nope, gotta stick with Pat Jones 2.0 here. Can’t do any better :man_shrugging:.
