He was fantastic. Imagine how good Flores must be if Smith was QB4. 
But maybe Smith is better than him? Smith reminds me a lot of Tennessee’s QB, Iamaleava.
Agree, I wonder what coach doesn’t believe in discovering potential talent on the bench? I recall several freshmen quarterbacks from opposing teams that burned OSU in the past.

You, I think, answered your own question with the question, LOL. Freshmen QBs and QB2s have burned us quite a bit over the last 4, 5 seasons. I remember when Baylor’s QB got hurt and they put in Blake Shapen, and I don’t think he had ever played before and he gashed us passing and running.
Alan Bowman I think was a freshman when he played against us and looked great.
