Two ESPN Draft Analysts Have Drew Mestemaker as Top Quarterback Prospect

‘I think he has as much upside as any quarterback in the class.’

I like what I have seen of Mestemaker, but how about we see what happens over the next 9 games? Consistency is the key. HIs experience is so limited, I tend to think he will come back in 2027 so he will be much more prepared for a run at the NFL. How many first round picks fizzle out when they have to compete against the best football players on the planet week after week? And once they start and get demoted, most spend their careers as backups (see Mason Rudolph and Brandon Weeden - two of the best college QBs in their day). I also think he will want to come back and go one more year with the triplets of Mestemaker, Young and Hawkins.

I’m sure there’s some insurance coverage that can be purchased incase he returns and gets injured. Hopefully we can get him back next year and go all in with him leading us.

I personally think he needs another year.

This is what Max Browne said on his YouTube channel.

I think ArchManning might return as well.

He needs to stay as long as possible cause he’s going to be a career backup in the NFL. He’s Chris Simms 2.0

Mestemaker or Manning?

I would love to be a career backup in the NFL. Sit there and hold a clipboard in a baseball cap and make millions while some other guy slowly loses the cartilege in his knees and gets holes in his brain. You get a brisk little workout when you’re blowing out the other team. Maybe you start two games a year on average. The life.

I meant Manning.

You have a point about that. Mason Rudolph is a smart guy and has probably saved most of his NFL money. He will be ready for the next chapter of his life instead of being broke like a lot of NFL players without any sense. I read that the average NFL career is around three years. A good backup QB can last 10 plus years.

Rudy has been the coolest cat on the block since he’s been in the league. I think he could lead a team but shite hes making 3 million a year holding the clip board :cowboy_hat_face: says he wants to go into real estate when he’s done. He’s saves most of his money not has the cash to start a big time company

Well, I think he could be a marginal starter. A good backup, in the right situation, could maybe be successful in the short term. Case Keenum had a good single season run as a starter. It’s kind of like Baker Mayfield. He straddles that line between good backup and low-end starter. He’s likely never going to get his team over the hump, but he can win games.
