‘I would say offensively, he’s made a lot of adjustments with just his pace and his tenacity and the way that he’s competing.’

This might be one of those situations where it may serve Vega well to get taken down early in the season so he doesn’t have to worry about that streak and can keep attacking

Difficult to take down a guy as flexible as Gumby. I’ve never seen anyone that limber, but Jax is close. An opponent could run the pipe on Vega all the way down to the mat and still probably not secure a TD, dude would be doing the splits and then somehow elevate his back leg.

I know that I’m late to this one, but man did Sergio look insane last Sunday. Jordyn Raney is a blue chip, hard fighting, loves to sprawl wrestler, and Sergio scored on almost every attack on him. Not just Raney’s attacks with an amazing counter like we’re all used to seeing, on pretty much every takedown attempt that Vega gave him. And there were a lot. People are gonna be eating their words from last year, this impossible to take down champ has reached another level. I don’t care if he finally gets taken down this year, let it happen. Sergio is gonna be a tech machine this year. Just what Coach Taylor needs to reach this team’s full potential.

Also, for any late comers to this article’s comments section, not only do we have our first duel of the year in GIA against Drexel tomorrow, we have some tournaments today with Cowboy and Cowboy RTC wrestlers! Michigan State tournament is gonna showcase Tagen Jamison, Jordyn Raney, Dee Lockett, Kody Routledge, Lorenzo Norman and Bennet Berge against some fierce competition from the likes of Oh St, ASU and others. Then there’s the Bill Farrell senior freestyle that has alums Caleb Fish and Izzak Olejnik participating alongside future Cowboy Tanner Hodgins. Both on FloWrestling today

Good reminder! Thanks
