UPDATE: AJ Ferrari Accused of Sexual Assault, No Longer on Oklahoma State Wrestling Team

Yes, high school wrestling in OK is not as relevant as it used to be. That is part of the problem, for sure. So you just have to expand your recruiting area if that is the case. I think John Smith knows what is wrong with our program, but it would destroy morale if he spoke about those factors. We took a giant leap in football status, while dropping off in wrestling. I would hope that Chad W. is having some intense pow-wows with John Smith. There is no one in college wrestling who I can think of who could fill John’s shoes. So that is not the answer. Cael Sanderson is not coming here, nor are the Iowa twins interested. So who does that leave? But I still say our guys for the most part are not as physically strong as their opponents in a lot of matches. That red headed former OSU transfer out muscled our guy really ugly last season. That was just one example. Can’t think of the wrestlers in that match due to having yet another senior moment.

You could see this coming or I could. Kid was a train wreck waiting to happen. I’m sure he’s probably a good kid , ego got out of control. Hopefully he lines his life out. We sure needed him and his brothers. I don’t see us competing for a championship for a long time. Something has to give

Next time we see him it will be in the UFC.

I agree.

Then go get the next Cael Sanderson, or promote from within if you think that guy is already on staff.

  1. Big 12 Media Days is being adequately covered.
  2. If you read Gundy’s quotes, he completely disregarded one very relevant question about Bedlam, which was “Does OU leaving the conference help OSU in football?” Who cares about Texas football? They are irrelevant until proven otherwise.
  3. Name another sport at Oklahoma State with 34 national titles…I’ll wait. It doesn’t exist. When you lose a former individual national champion thus shutting off the recruiting pipeline to a very successful family, based upon an alleged crime such as sexual assault, it IS the front page story, whether you agree or not.
  4. Most importantly: Forget wrestling, forget OSU, forget the Natty’s….forget ALL of it. ANYTIME that ANYONE is accused of this type of crime, it should be investigated, reported upon and taken very, very seriously. Our student athletes and the people with whom they interact with on a daily basis, are HUMAN BEINGS above all else. You demanding that PFB place this on the back burner reeks of Waco, TX under Art Briles.

So does uo leaving make us better or worse? You didnt answer it either, just saying. It does take one of the best tv games out. I believe osu ou was the highest rated this year, besides the title game

I completely, and respectfully, disagree with this take. This kid has been trouble from the start. My daughter, who is a senior at OSU, knows him and says he is a scary and disturbed guy. I don’t care how great his athletic ability is, he has represented Oklahoma State University poorly. Also, I can assure you that the school is very sure he is culpable, or he would still be on the team. Just like Gundy took care of Tyreek Hill after his domestic abuse incident, Smith took care of A.J. Well done coach.

It automatically makes it easier to get a conference championship. If playoff expands, it becomes even easier to get in. Money-wise it won’t help. But from a psychological perspective and in terms of wins overall, it helps a ton. There, I answered.

He’s 20 and most “kids” don’t have sexual assault allegations against them. Regardless of whether or not charges come, there’s already been plenty of incidents and plenty of his bad behavior has been exposed. He is an exceptional talent (I personally think a bit overrated, but nevertheless), but no talent is worth that kind of negative press or negativity in the locker room. I don’t know if he’s a rapist as some have alleged, but I do know when people show you who they are, you should believe them the first time.

When you walk around acting like you’re the King of Stillwater, and being a giant douchee to everyone, your ess deserves some kind of karma no matter the age. Dude is 18 which means he’s a legal adult. Maybe he should be smart enough to figure that out. If he can’t then he doesn’t need to be at OSU or any college in general.

This is an odd comment. Comming from a guy who sticks up for briles having a team full of them.

Back to your double standards.

Since when have I stuck up for Briles and rapists? Acting like the only reason Briles did well at Baylor based on a few of his players out of the 85 he had on his roster is kind of stupid. You’re just angry that he did better than Gundy and you can’t stand it.

I don’t have a problem with them getting rid of Briles or kicking knuckle heads off the team, but what you’re attempting to do is say the only reason Briles did any good was because he had a team full of rapists. Please show me how many starting players or impact players he had that were convicted of these crimes?

Once you can do that I might just start to believe you, but to act like Briles just wasn’t a good coach is kind of stupid. Guess who the HC was at Houston in 2006 when Gundy lost?

Not defending AJ but it did come out later that the claims by Tyreek’s girl friend were false, so there is that. Gundy took care of Tyreek but is wasn’t because he was guilty of the accusations.
