Yea I just picked Texas as an example. There are what 5-10 (?) schools that hoover up all the top recruits mainly due to the helmet logo and their big budgets, no one else really has a chance. Now that NIL is in the wild it’s just going to get worse. The one shining spot is the transfer portal which I think benefits schools like OSU

Baylor also rebuilt following one of the most horrific scandals known in the history of college athletics. Larry Nasser, Jerry Sandusky, Art Briles…three names which will live in infamy in the history of college athletics. And Baylor will forever be tied to one of those names. Honestly, they shouldn’t even have an athletics program… Yet, THEY were the ones who hoisted the trophy in Arlington 2 weeks ago. What Baylor accomplished is astonishing. Made more so by the fact that they are now 2 coaches removed from Briles. I hate it, but clearly Baylor appears to be more committed to winning conference titles in football than Oklahoma State.

Ur reply to my post about the benefits Baylor have over us. All I can say is gundy has keep us close to the top all but 2 years in the last 12.
We have had 3 great class in a row. Keep as many super seniors and all players we should be up there again. I think we are planing to get 5 or 6 transfer players. U heard it from me first.
Gundy keep saying the class number as 23 not 17 and one of the writers on poke report said something a long this.

I didn’t figure you had any confidence in Gundy. A sorryass coach like Lincoln Riley can win 4 straight conference championship games in a row but Gundy can’t make 2 in a row. Gundy needs one of his coordinators to be extraordinary just to get him in the top half of the conference.

OU and Baylor look to be the favorites at the moment. OSU having a new DC will definitely skip a few beats and Dickey has proven to be inept and can’t find a 300 pound guy who could move my 90 pound grandma, Someone needs to tell Dunn that in game adjustments are aloud and are a positive thing. Right now 4th might be to high for OSU next season.
Well this how it looks is true r defense will lose mainly lb. Know Knowles was the lb coach. We will see if he can actually coach lb. This is the only spot that has not shown much form the back ups yet. And going after an older lb does give me confidence.
Both ou and Baylor are losing there best defensive players to the draft. Baylor still should be fine.
Ou has players and depth to replace plus they had a bad defense to start with. Ou had a bad oline and there losing guys off it.
How is it that OU and Baylor are favorites? What will be different with those two teams next year from this year? I mean we beat them both this year, what makes you think we can’t next year?

When was the last time Gundy beat both of them 2 years in a row? How many times has Gundy beaten Baylor in the last decade. Don’t start acting like Gundy has just started something, I was here in 2011 and look at his record with those 2 schools since then. 1 conference title doesn’t make a good coach. The word is fluke

Past outcomes weight more. Example Bell-dozer 2013, Baylor’s backup quarterback this year. The only two people on the field that matter in these games are the 2 head coaches and over the last decade Baylor and OU have won that battle.
