OSU fans are excited about the Cowboys, but what do national pundits think?
“So, what did they do?” Pate said. “Well, they looked across the G5 landscape”
I’ve been saying we should do this since at least October of 2024. No, let’s just hold onto a burnt out coach for another year, hire previously fired 60 year old coaches, and make sure we do worse the next season
.
8 to 9 wins is in the realm of possibility for the Pokes for sure. Injuries will help determine that.
Outside of Texas Tech I’m not really sure if any other team in the league is better than us. Maybe BYU is??? However, I’d say as of right now it seems like it’s fairly even across the board except for 4-5 teams in the league. I tend to think Tech, BYU, K State, OSU, and Houston might set themselves apart from the others.
“From the outside, a jump from 1-11 to 7-5 would be a big boon. Is that the same from within the fanbase, or are the expectations Mike Gundy built over the past two decades to the point where even that might be considered somewhat meh?”
As someone who desired for Gundy to be let go a bit sooner than he was, I can easily state that 7-5 with several competitive losses would leave me more than satisfied with Morris and the trajectory he has OSU on. I’m just tired of OSU being the automatic W for our conference opponents and getting beat down by 40+ by good teams.
I was coming to say the exact thing. Going from 4 wins in the last two years combined to seven wins this season is good sign to me.
We know Bill, you say it in every single post.
Or our OL and defense could be less than average. We don’t know yet.
I agree, I think it’s about competitiveness. We cannot expect to be the next Indiana or we will probably end up being disappointed or upset. I’m going to say 7-5 and every win over that mark will be a boon for the program and Morris. I just don’t know about our OL and defense.
I can say it will be better than last season’s
.
