LSU went from Nick Saban to Les Miles to Ed Orgeron.
Boise State went from Dan Hawkins to Chris Petersen to Bryan Harsin
Well documented and occured in 2018.
I doubt that, but even if true, my point stands that he would not face any significant long term consequences. ESPN would not say a word, PFB would not say a word, no one would call him a racist, Holder would not have cut his salary, players would not have threatened a boycott. When was the last time Tucker Carlson forced a liberal public figure to apologize for espousing a liberal viewpoint?
Disagree all around other than on the players.
Once again Gordon some good points. I guess the proof will be in the pudding if we in fact end up having a football season this year. If this team, which is arguably one of the best on paper in some time, falls on itâs face then some will argue that this OAN shirt s&@t show contributed to it. Although I donât know how one would prove that is the case unless some players came forward after the season and said it was so. Also given all the crap that Gundy has had to put up with over a t-shirt and assuming contracts and/or athletic budgets allow for it I wonât be surprised if Gundy gives OSU the big FU and retires or goes elsewhere next year.
What?
Uhhh your kidding right?
What HE has been through?
His choices have put OSU through a ton.
Come on now.
Tomg,
Thank you, I remember now. You are correct. McCleskey situation handled very poorly. The rest of my post I believe is valid. Gundy has had numerous public comments praising Chuba. (âHe does everything right, on and off the fieldâ). Iâve heard it more than once. For that alone, Chuba should have gone to him (Chubaâs own words). If that didnât work, then I would never blame him for turning to social media.
That is where having personal relationships prior can help keep these discussions private. What I think you are missing is players still want a relationship with a coach that has shown little to no interest in them beyond football. Gundy should praise Chuba for he behavior before the incident and for his behavior post incident IMO. Chuba was also the only one that did apologize in the first video and it was IMO genuine.
Sorry that is not the way I see it. Wearing an OAN t-shirt is nothing itâs just not. People who are offended by it are just looking for something to offend them. Actually folks who claim to be offended should be grateful that they can make that claim instead of having to focus on things like finding enough food and staying alive like a lot of folks in other countries on this planet.
You realize itâs not about the shirt right?
Right, itâs about insinuating youâre racist if you watch OAN.
Also not it. Keep trying.
That there is so much confusion about what it was actually about a month later tells me all I need to know about what a nothingburger it really was.
It was it and itâs the reason for the investigation of racism and the players and coaches putting out a video supporting BLM.
The video was first.
I agree 100%âŚHe was offered the Tennessee job twice. Once a great job in the SECâŚ!
My season ticket friend has this to day about all this mess. Heâs a lawyer and said that Gundy would have a good case if they fired him over a shirt:
Kyle,
You are a douche bag and a liberal hack. I hope you get tertiary Siphilis!!! Have a good day.
Ventured over here to the non PFB+ section purely as a spectator for the @ScottCorken show.
