It might seem bleak now, but there’s still a possibility that the Cowboys can have a say in the Big 12 title race.
We can’t even hold Iowa State under 50 and you’re still trying to figure this team’s path to the championship? This team isn’t capable. The culture needs work and the defense is atrocious.
Love the optimism, but this game shows me what I feared — we are Fool’s Gold. We were absolutely EMBARRASSING against a horrible ISU teams (after embarrassing performances against Colorado and UCF). I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see how we don’t get smacked by Kansas State and Texas Tech.
There will be more losses to come.
It’s really a shame to have a really good offense like the Pokes and such a very bad defense.Cassidy can’t coach and the defense can’t cover or tackle.Iowa State pulled every trick in the book on them.
In the press conferences I keep hearing how Cassidy and Morris are preaching “play fast.. play fast"…. But there are no fundamentals. What I consistently see happening is being out of scheme, then "playing fast” to reach the ball carrier, and whiffing on the tackles.
Maybe instead of preaching “play fast” they should be preaching “play sound” ![]()
This picture is worth 1000 words, but I’ll still add a few more. What color is the sky in the world where our defense allows us to win enough games to get to the conference title game?
I think perhaps heliotrope.
I think it’s fair to say that our defense this year is arguably worse as a collective unit than last year.
Truth. I really do think this defense is worse than last year’s. The D wasn’t the biggest issue last year, it was the absolutely putrid offense. This year’s offense with last year’s defense would’ve won the Houston game and possibly Iowa State as well.
