What do you mean? Russia is supposed to be a massive military power. The only reason Ukraine is in this right now is because of U.S. aid and Russia’s stupidity on military strategics. I’m not saying Ukraine doesn’t have tough fighters, but let’s be real here.

Their plan is fine take a large army and over run a country. Worked for us in Iraq.

We had the entire country of Iraq occupied in less than three weeks. Here’s what we did the Russians didn’t do:

  • Bombed the airfields

  • Obtained insider intelligence before launching the invasion

  • Cut off Iraqi communications

  • Split chalks and convoys

  • Prepared our logistical lines before the invasion

  • Applied Risk Assessments and Mission Essential Tasks

  • Located Iraq’s strategic locations and resources. Cutting off Iraq military supply lines

That’s just a few things. The Russians didn’t do any of that. If they would’ve done so they would’ve had already taken over the country’s airspace permanently, and instead of abandoning their equipment because they were stupid enough to send them forward without any competent logistical plan whatsoever they would’ve already taken Kyiv before the U.S. would’ve been able to ship them any aid.

Russia was told if they block Ukraine communication it would block natos. And musk satellite system is a big plus. Russia bombed everything they didn’t need for occupation.
Like I said their plan was find. One big difference in desert warfare is its harder to hind.

If Russia wanted to make it easier on themselves, and keep their convoys from being blown to hell by Ukrainian fighter jets and drones. The very first thing they would’ve done was bombed Ukraine’s airfields. That’s why the Army has engineers. So you can quickly build air strips and provide perimeter security for them until completion. You don’t necessarily need Ukraine’s air fields.

Any soldier with a few years of experience would tell you the same thing. If Russia gave a dam at all about what the UN and NATO had to say they wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine in the first place.

They did bomb the airports because the wanted to use them , and they did.
We rolled in Iraq because they had second rate equipment, conscripted and its in the desert.
The problem with Russia is they have a crupt system.

Alot said no longer then it us in Iraq. No one took in consideration they have more trained solider. With better weapons. It’s a whole lot easier to do guerilla attacks not in the desert.

Why can’t you just admit you might be wrong on something instead of doubling down? I just provided you proof that for the first four days they largely didn’t do anything to Ukrainian Air Forces. 2 things. U can’t land a jet on a bombed runway. 2, maybe the Russian they could destroy their air force in the air.

I’m not even sure you know the facts the Russian did attack certain airports or even certain parts of air ports with in 4 days. I know I hread so. I told they want to use the airports. They had commandos attacking some.

You’re right. You can still land them near the Russian and Ukrainian border (Yelnya a Russian military base). You can also land them in Crimea. You can also land them in Belarus.

It has more to do than just jet vs jet. There is a reason NATO is giving Ukraine a bunch of anti-aircraft missile systems.
