I’ve said 6 m/m and I’ll stick w/ that. We’ll see major improvement, not that it would be too difficult from last two seasons…

Anyone want to make a prediction…for fun?

W 9/5 at Tulsa
L 9/15 vs Oregon
W 9/19 vs Murray St
W Sept. 26 at West Virginia (5.5)
BYE
W Oct. 10 vs UCF (5.5)
L Oct. 17 at Houston (7.5)
W Oct. 24 vs Colorado (4.5)
W Oct. 31 at Iowa State (5.5)
L Nov. 7 at Kansas State (8.5) - I can see us winning this one
L Nov. 14 vs Texas Tech (10.5)
L Nov. 21 at Arizona State (6.5)
W Nov. 28 vs Kansas (5.5)

So I got 7. ‘All bets off’ if we lose QB1 to injury.

  • The standard for his first year (4 wins, like Gundy)
  • What I think he’ll get (6-7 wins)
  • Would I be surprised if he does better (No, he’s not Gundy)

I expect us to at least cross the 50 yard line more and be more effective at scoring. I worry about the defense a bit though.

Added QB head to head rating from S.I. with Mestemaker’s efficiency rating first:
[168.7 v. xxx.x]

As you mentioned, if DM has a seamless transfer and remains healthy this gives oSu a quarterback advantage in every game. How many points is that worth?

Is this team going to be physical enough? Do they even realize the level of physicality they will need to perform in this league to become a top team? How do some of the transfers from other universities compare their previous stops with oSu’s preparation? [FSU, NU, LSU, aTm, UW, etc.] Will mental mistakes be minimized? Those are some questions and concerns, along with the OL playing well, for a solid season.

GoPokes!!!

When does the season begin? :cowboy_hat_face:

I am going out on a limb here. If we stay healthy (the O.Line and QB) I am predicting a 7-8 win season. With all the players coach brought over, I think that we will be the surprise of the league.

Or, I may eat my words and we win only 5 to 6 games. However, I certainly do not expect us to lose games that we are supposed to win. Gundy had such a poor track record here.

Yeah, I’ll be a lot more comfortable if Iman is added to the interior rotation. Sorta curious why two more DBs were added - speed against Oregon and WVUs new wideouts? Depth? Injuries?

We definitely need speed against Oregon. We looked 2 steps slow against them last year.

That’s what happens when you fill a roster with G5 and P4 talent that couldn’t step on the field for the teams they came from except very few. I knew with what we brought in and what we hired that it wasn’t going to be good. They actually did worse than I expected.

I like the fact we’ve filled our roster with proven players from the G5 and P4 level, and filled the rest of our depth with players that have some experience. I have a feeling this season is going to look very different compared to last.

What part, IYHO, was talent and what part was scheme (or lack of understanding of scheme ) as the secondary seemed to be burnt most of the year? I’ve tried to forget some of it…

Look at where some of our defensive backs were from. UTEP, Charlotte, and ECU? Then look at who we hired as our DC. A coach that was fired from Florida 4 years prior, and nobody else in the country was willing to hire as their DC (even Saban wouldn’t let him be a positions coach).

bad coaching + unproven players = bad defense and a coach that only lasts six games.
