I don’t get it. No write up on Ollie or Korie Black?
Martin…better system.
Probably no case to be made for Black.
Except that he was drafted and ran a 4.39 at pro day. I love all these guys but thinking Oliver will excel at rushing the passer at 240 is an outside chance at best. I think Ollie and Martin are leaders here and Oliver might have the worst odds
Yeah, he got drafted… in the 7th round. People do end up playing when drafted that late including our own Malcolm Rodgriguez, but it’s not common. Teams have little investment and little expectation from those late round flyer picks. The teams are more likely grabbing best availables at that point, not necessarily need. 7th rounders are usually looking to make a place for themselves on special teams.
The Giants secondary is a huge mess, but they just signed a veteran, a new secondary coach, and have a bunch of younger guys. It’s going to be a crowded audition field with more financial investment in the other young guys. Maybe he has a chance, but I wouldn’t give him great odds to see the field much.
The answer is Martin because he’s the only one drafted directly into a starting role. Its his to lose. Ollie is, at best, going to start as a time share back behind a first round pick (although there is injury history there). Oliver is going to be a 3rd down pass-rusher and depth piece. Black is probably 5th on the depth chart and is probably a practice squad guy until there’s some injury attrition.
I mean… yes. The only way that could change is if Martin gets hurt early.
