You know it’s funny. Stanford built a 14-0 lead in that game because we have a HC that wants to run to set up the pass. The problem with doing that against Stanford is they had a really good front seven that year.
So what did Gundy do? He decided we need to attack the strength of their defense by running Joseph Randle through a brick wall. So finally Monken tells Gundy “Hey coach!! I think if we throw it to the two-time biletnikoff winner we have we might be able to score”.
So we start throwing it to Blackmon and before you know it the game is tied at 14 all. Just saying Roberto. If you don’t think Gundy needs help making decisions during the game then you might be a little blind.
So u figured out the kick did lose the game for Stanford.
What ever happened in the middle of the game did matter. Gundy got another win.
