‘Just focused on today and progressing this week.’
That statement was about as much of a confirmation as you can get without simply saying “Yes.” LOL
The game tonight between North Texas and South Florida is an example of two, young, college head coaches, going head to head, who could very well end up in Stillwater this year (December) But my all time favorite would be Zac, simply because he is on such an upward trajectory in the NFL and he is a “company man” we could trust to make Stillwater his own “NY Yankees job!”
I’m not so sure Zac Robinson has his heart set on coaching at OSU - his experience is in the NFL. I’m not sure Weiberg and his search firm will recommend him. He’s a great guy, great athlete, an OSU guy. But he has zero experience in coaching big-time college football. Zero experience in building a college football program. Is he really the best qualified guy out there? Because we need the best qualified, not the best alumnus. Apparently, some Board of Regents folks have their heart set on Zac and maybe some donors, but I am not sure why.
I’m kind of right there with you. I’ve said before that I’m not nearly as much on the “grab the up and coming coordinator” (offense or defense) train as I am on the “find a great HEAD coach” train. Being an outstanding coordinator does NOT make you a great head coach. I want them to bring in a proven head coach who can oversee all of it.
You were doing well till that last part, but respect your opinion. I like Zac as a person, I don’t think he’s the best candidate. Has never recruited HS kids, lived in Dallas area before, but we need someone who already has contacts w/ HS coaches in Texas and that would either be Eric Morris (UT HC) or GJ Kinne (Tex State). Just my opinion though…
Can’t agree w/ you more!
Don’t know I’d Zac has his goal set to be a head coach in the NFL but I think he knows he would be given a little time to build here provided he can hire some top north coordinators as opposed to having to win and win fast In the league. It’s for sure high pressure either way I want the best.one regardless. If will be a total rebuild Would hope Hauss stays and we need to find a jam up good qb recruit
