10 Thoughts on Oklahoma State's 24-21 Loss to Iowa State

Yeah….let’s blame the defense that played well enough to win, and gave the offense two more chances on offense with 5:30 left to play. Real brilliant thinking right there Robert!!!

Joey this team has troubles running srat plays.
U want pulling linemen and motion. I see more players out of place with alot of flags.

Looks like we have a problem with player development then. Seems Dickey, Gundy, and Dunn have a lot of work to do then.

Joey u have great insight. U are wasted on this site.

I know why ou doesn’t have this problem. They got the best coach. Riley just couldn’t let this happen.

How does the other 11 keep this from happening.

I want to see oSu and ISU win out for the rematch…

I thought we looked more like a good team in this loss than in previous wins. Other than the second half of the Longhorn game, it was our best outing. But also… when we did not go for a win on the first 4th and 1, but opted to kick the field goal, make it or not… felt that we would get what the timid deserve, and we did. The usual Gundy rhetoric of percentages to be served up later, and it was.

I expected Sanders and Purdy to have a turnover duel, the one making the fewest to come out on top. Neither had any to my recollection, so hats off to both.

Now, as is readily apparent, of the round robin of one conference loss teams, oSu-ISU-Baylor, we do have the advantage of being the only one to have already gotten by the Longhorns. Texas can work in our favor facing the Cyclones and the Bears in the next two weeks and for once, I am forced to root for them, thanks to the Ames setback. But, we still have to take care of the business at hand and I hope we do so with a brass and bold approach, rather than our usual ‘play not to lose’ fare. jmho…

GO POKES!!! :football:

Turns out that Gundy is his own agent

Why would he pay someone to just sit there making money doing nothing :scream::scream::scream::scream::exploding_head::exploding_head::exploding_head::exploding_head::thinking::thinking::thinking::thinking::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::cowboy_hat_face::cowboy_hat_face::partying_face::partying_face::partying_face:

The ball is still in our court as far as the CCG…. We have wins over Baylor and Texas. We need to pull for Texas since they can be the spoiler. OU isn’t an impossible win this year either. The defense will be there , we just need to produce more offense
Joey you were bragging on Yurcich was a bang up hire for Penn St a couple of weeks ago :cowboy_hat_face::cowboy_hat_face:

That perpetual 5 year deal should’ve never been signed to begin with. At most schools, Gundy would’ve got the axe after the hubbub with his t-shirt and Chuba Hubbard and Gundy’s stupid pressers.

Gundy knows he would get fired at a larger program and that’s part of why he doesn’t leave. He gets paid extremely well and he knows he will never have to question his job security. Signing that 5 year deal was dumb as hell. Especially mid season when he hasn’t secured the conference championship game or beaten OU. It’s obvious he isn’t leaving. He would’ve left by now if he was. There was ZERO reason to sign him like that. Especially mid season before the biggest game yet. I have no idea what the AD was thinking with that one.

Sounds like to me the coaches need to do a better job of player development and reforming their running game if that’s what the plan is for now on.

If Gundy were to go to Texas. Would Texas put up with six rivalry losses in a row?

Would Texas put up with two wins in the last sixteen seasons against OU?

Would Texas be okay with 4th?

Would Texas be okay with a combined 3-5 record against TCU and Tech in the last 8 meeting?

Would Texas put up with a coach that can’t beat a dude that got fired from a below average Big 12 program?

I don’t think we would. You know how we know that? Because they are on coach #3 since getting rid of the Mack Attack. That’s why Gundy stays at OSU.

The only major program that wouldn’t fire him is probably Michigan but they’ve already got their own mike gundy.

Kind of ironic how that contract gets inked and all of a sudden they lose a game. As far as Gundy is concerned they are bowl eligible.
