JP leaves last year because he gets in a fight with Sanders. Cobb leaves for the same reason, he may have gone to USC anyway. But you guys don’t know half the story about last year. You just want to complain
The only fact I see is our recruiting is mediocre. The rankings prove it.
Or likely any year for that matter unless there is a radical change to the good of our OL every season for 3-5 continuous seasons. Yes Dicky has a very large hole to dig out of.
I don’t believe that anyone is denying our rankings, they are the facts there is no denying it, and you can claim mediocrity based on that stat if you want. But that is not the whole story, we are a diamonds in the rough hidden gems school and that’s probably not going to change until we either hire coach prime or someone in his likeness or win a national championship and get to blue blood status.

Gundy chewed out the Oline like I have never seen on the sideline. If you look at the PFF scores, Joe,Taylor, and Dalton graded out good. The others were 50 or below. That’s not going to cut it, and should start playing the young talented lineman. I would have a different starting lineup this week. What do we have to lose?

We need blue blood status to out recruit Wake Forest, Houston, Vanderbilt, Pitt, UCF, Oregon State, WVU, Northwestern, Stanford, Minnesota, Arizona State, NC State, Iowa State, Iowa, Arizona, Virginia Tech, Illinois, Maryland, Baylor, Mizzou, KState, Kentucky, Louisville, Texas Tech, Mississippi State??? None of these are top 25 recruiting teams either. I find it quite sad that people think lil ole OSU isn’t capable of recruiting because it’s Stillwater or NIL. Gundy doesn’t put in the amount of effort that he should be putting into recruiting and the rankings reflect it.

That’s not going to happen. Dickey plays favorites. That’s why a lot of the top young talent has left and are now starting at other schools. Oh and by the way, they are grading out better according to PFF.

LG for San Diego State is an OSU transfer and was graded as the #15 ranked guard last season by PFF. He is on the preseason Outland trophy watchlist and is already getting contacted about the NFL. Dickey told him he didn’t see him getting to play at OSU for a couple of seasons and this was after he had been at OSU for two seasons already. Dickey said he wasn’t ready. Even our own D lineman who had to go up against him in practice didn’t know why he wasn’t playing because he was one of the toughest guys we had.
Starting LT for TX Tech was told the same thing by Dickey. Both these guys graded out better last year than any of the OSU lineman.

I consider OSU and all the schools you named to be in the same large boat. Everyone is getting what the blue bloods don’t take. How everyone in that group ranks year to year doesn’t rate being much of an issue IMO.

I agree. There are only around 100-150 total 4&5 stars each class. Once those guys are gone, the recruiting field levels out pretty quick.

There was 457 247 composite 4 and 5 stars in 2023. OSU didn’t land a single one.

I usually don’t look at 24-7 for star ratings. But I get what you’re saying
Not sure how to go past the top 250 on Rivals but there’s at least 250 4 and 5 stars there.
Sorry I was thinking of basketball recruiting. Football is typically 350-400.
Do you really put all your faith in what someone rates a kid that’s probably never seen them play or knows jack about them. A lot of kids can’t afford to go to summer camps like some do Are you really that naive to believe every ranking is correct. Does it evaluate a kid’s attitude, his drive , his heart ? Granted there are the ones that talent overcomes others Haven’t seen many that actually lived up to the hype they were given

Yeah anyone who beats central Arkansas and Arizona State in the same year can win more games at OSU giv’in enough time. Just don’t ask them to win the conference or ever beat your rival. Way too hard.
