What about Michael, his split personality, has he showed up, LOL?!
Heās been MIA as well but not as long as Robert has. He also didnāt cry like a baby to the staff like Roberto.
I would love for Zac to come in and be our OC or our HC. That said, I just donāt see it happening. As stated, I donāt see ZR being the guy to come in as Gundyās executioner so HC is probably out. And ZR is already on an NFL OC path having coached with Belicek and McVey, two of the most respected NFL coaching trees. So unless heās getting a big raise and the ādreadedā head coach in waiting tag, which I donāt see Gundy going for, there is zero benefit to him coming to OSU vs. waiting for what will likely be an NFL OC gig soon.
Man why did you have to make such a logical case to prove me wrong? Iāve got dreams.
I donāt think Zac wants to deal with 17-18 year old prima Donnaās recruiting wise. Thatās a headache in itself, changing their mind every 60 days
I would bet heās probably had offers to some schools we havenāt heard about
Maybe he likes the pros and not having to deal with head coaching headaches. I think the QB school he ran was in demand while he was there
I agree and also who would leave a good paying job in the NFL to come work in college sports where you have unregulated NIL the wild west portal and probably a hell of a lot of cheating going on not to mention that on top of all that you are also mostly Fāed anyway if you are not a blue blood. Yea Iād pass in a heart beat.
This unregulated NIL you speak of will be the death of good football anywhere but a BB. I think anyone can see that but ketchupā cause heās on the other end So much for us developing a kid a year of two and then he runs off to a better money deal and we have to go to the portal to try to replace him Not an idea situation
If you win and can be exciting, you can become a blue blood. Clemson wasnāt a blue blood until they became one. We were on our way early in Gundyās tenure. Cover of SI with Dez. 1st round Draft picks in Kevin Williams, Brandon Weeden. NFLers scattered throughout the league. If Gundy could have done more than be a one-hit wonder (2011) for his 18 years, we could be a blue blood today. But if you donāt think you can become a blue blood, then you are right. You never will. The fact that our coach has resigned to that fact (as stated by his own comments), is just further evidence of why its time to give him the greatest retirement party/ring of honor ceremony ever and find someone willing to accept todayās challenge.
Gundy at the West Virginia game this year will have been involved with one third of all the games in the hundred and whatever years itās been in existence
Four hundredth football game as a player , assistant coach , head coach. Thatās a feat in itself
Iām sure he has lost some fire, heās an ego manic , heās obnoxious, but none of you jackasses remember before him. Thatās all well and good. We should act entitled. Heās been bad for 12 games now. Letās roast him on the fire.
Heās been here longer than Stoops was at the goons. Maybe it is time
And no you donāt become a BB in 20 years, it takes decades⦠Clemson isnāt a BB. They played on that level for years, not decades. Letās see how they respond to adversity
This is true under the old paradigm, before unregulated NIL and the portal and it was a mighty hill to climb to achieve. In this new paradigm with unregulated NIL and the portal the task is an order of magnitude more difficult if not impossible. Itās time to come to grips with how bad the outlook is for schools like OSU given the current environment. Hopefully things will change for the better down the road but until then we are pretty much toast unless of course we decide to adopt cheating like probably a lot of schools out there something that I am 100% against.
Being a mighty hill and being unwilling to climb it are two different things. Give me the guy who will fight that fight, not the guy who believes its too steep to climb and thus refuses to try.
I remember before him. I had season tickets to Rustoleum Stadium. I was here for the Del Miller āSuper Secretā offense. I was here for R.W. McQuarters (who should be a future Ring of Honor member, btw). I watched BJ Tiger and Tony Lindsey. But Gundy moved us past that. And he deserves a statue for it. But living in fear of returning to those days is going to return us to those days. We have everything we need to be a blue blood. As Gundy said, āwe have a logoā. We used to be prominent on ESPN. We were exciting to watch. We put players in the league. Gundy has had every chance to break through for OSU, and has simply failed to do so, and now he seems comfortable resting on his past glory of raising us from the depths of the Simmonsā years.
One item that I agree with you on is having an exciting offense that can burst the light bulbs. When you do that then youāre gassing the defense. The one key is more portal money

This is such a misnomer. You gas the defense by going 3 and out (even slowly). You gas the defense by never giving them a lead and thus making every drive a high leverage drive. Scoring 20 points a game GASSES the defense. Because EVERY drive matters to them in that case. Thereās zero margin for error for the defense when an offense canāt score. If you are scoring 35 or 40 per game, then the defense can gamble with blitzes and trying to force turnovers, because giving up a long touchdown isnāt a big deal. The defense knows the offense can offset the TD and when the gambles pay off, the offense gets setup in a prime position. Thatās complimentary football. Our offense does our defense zero favors.
Only response I have to that is ask UCF how that played out for them last week ?? You play a lot of plays you need at least two deep to contain a team if they are worth a chit
The option for the defense is you donāt give anything up no matter the score
Youāre arguing just to be arguing
