On more bad offense, some bad defense and where OSU goes from here.
Really though, is anyone okay with this?
I can’t remember the last time I turned off a game in the 3rd quarter to get the lawn mowing done. Good decision on my part. I am now on the fire Dunn bandwagon. Running a non-runner QB TWICE when the offense has the KSU defense on its heels??? Oà Ve!!
I think I am on yard mowing duty for the rest of the year. And I am officially on moving on from Gundy train…along with Dunn and Dickey.
OSU shouldn’t be mentioned in the same sentence as the playoff. At this point I would prefer we hit a skid and maybe see something change rather than just keep doing this same song and dance every year. And yes I remember pre Les Miles purgatory, but we haven’t been that team for over 20 YEARS now and I think we’re at a point where we can expect more from OSU than what we’re seeing.
Should be no surprise today after watching what Utah did to us. When predicting scores the other day, I wrote we lose by 2-3 TDs.
When we were clicking and Dunn called for 2 QB runs, that should seal the big adios for him at seasons end. This looks like it could be our first losing season since 2006. Bowman really is as bad as he seems. Nardo should also get canned. Having 3 star players is no longer going to cut it.
HC had any sense he would force Bowman to get into the portal…even thought he’s a 7th year senior and not possible. Too doofy to realize his best chance for the future is QB3, Flores. But nothing will change, no one will get fired in the off season. Gumby will never win anothe Big 12 title, book it!
Only Dunn?
K-State is mostly 2-stars and below and they whupped our 3s and few 4s.
Done with Dunn
It’s not going to be a losing season. Get a grip.
Hooray us. We won’t have a losing season. I assume you’ve already booked your Camping World Bowl tickets?
11th Thought - our game planning and the ability to make adjustments in game from our coaching staff is substandard and non-existent. I was hoping the post-game session would come with an apology to the players and the fans, you know, maybe some show of humility.
That post game presser was depressing. Gundy looks so aloof. No emotion. Zero ownership of the outcome. Reading stats to describe the game: “Well, we averaged 4 yards a carry so that’s an improvement”. (That was his actual quote.) And his comment about it being good to see the offense fighting for that garbage time score. Woohoo, we scored on a team that had long since pulled its starters and was just playing out the string.
That’s the problem, a huge chunk of the fan base that went to college/became fans pre-2005 believe Gundy is the only thing preventing us from becoming indefinite cannon fodder again.
I get the irrational fear of being bad forever. It’s ingrained in our Poke brains, but the sport of college football has changed. And I don’t believe Gundy can or will change with it.
We definitely need a change at OC. The decisions on offense defy logic.
And as far as DC, looking like it was a regrettable hire by Gundy. Nardo was brought in because of his experience running a 3 man front. We’re not enough running that so why is he still here?
For all those that want Gundy gone, please tell us who we should go and get to replace him?
Y’all wild.
Someone made a ridiculous statement. I said to back off the ledge. Now I love mediocrity or something.
As I’ve been telling everyone. If you’re watching the games, buying tickets, getting the merch, driving traffic on a fan blog, you’re doing everything to support the team. Frothing at the mouth as you rabidly smash the keyboard does absolutely nothing to make a change. You’re the “some people are happy with blah blah” you’re talking about. I would guess there will be a coaching shake-up unless the season turns around.
I will continue supporting the team in the usual way, though, so yes, until I stop watching the games, I am signaling that I’m happy with whatever we’re doing in any measurable, meaningful way.
I’m there too. It’s telling when even the announcers are outwardly scratching their heads after not one but two QB sneaks called on consecutive plays with a QB who couldn’t outrun a fully loaded concrete mixer even if his life depended on it. Dunn calls some good plays, but they are overwhelmed by all the others.
There also needs to be some serious carpet dancing by whomever is supposed to get our offensive line to open up a running game, and by Nardo for allowing gaping soul-rending 70-yard plays.
And finally, Gundy needs to be taken to task for his stupid decisions, from hiring obscure d2 coaches to still not knowing how to manage a clock.
At it’s simplest, football boils down to the line of scrimmage. We’ve been dominated at the line – both sides of the ball – the last two weeks and, even, the Arkansas game.
Our offensive line, seasoned as it is, is not very good. Ditto for our defensive line – especially the interior.
I wish we would like Kirkland up one inch from the opposing center’s helment with one instruction: bulldoze the center as far back as you can on every play (pass or run). Rather, we play him a full yard away from a guard and he stands straight up and gets neutralized.
Zac Robinson or Todd Monken may be options.
