10 Thoughts on Oklahoma State's 69-3 Loss to No. 6 Oregon

10 takeaways from a super ugly game.

I don’t think the Lanning stuff was weird at all.

As a competitor I’m sure he was offended that another coach would make an excuse for losing before the game was even played.

As a coach I’m sure he was offended that another coach would try to discredit or qualify his success by saying they’re successful because they have money, not because they run a successful program.

Sure, Gundy’s words may have been taken out of context, but even in context Gundy just says things he has no business saying. He’s more of a meme than a football coach at this point.

Gumby’s comments were ILL ADVISED. As if he didn’t benefit from T. Boone’s very generous donations. Kinda hypocritical if you ask me, but I doubt many here will agree. We all realize NIL is ridiculous, players should have cap amount as should a team. It’s just full-blown professionalism. Going to turn off a lot of fans IMO…

Well I think that Gundy’s comments were factual and nothing more. Call a spade a spade. The advantages are apparent. I don’t think Gundy is making excuses he is just telling how the playing field is structured.

We need a new Head Coach. It’s as simple as that. Just like how the U.S. needed a new president when Biden took “charge”.

Yea we know. Is there anything else that needs to happen for us to win a natty?

Real question — if you’re Hauss Hejny do you consider saving your eligibility and sit the rest of the season out? Likely not going to be a good team with or without him, coaching staff (probably) gone after this season. Not sure he stands to gain much from playing other than if he treats it like an open try out for other teams.

Only one thought needed: that was a complete and thorough embarrassment.

If this season plays out like last season, then Gundy should either resign or be fired.

I think the bigger issue than money is respect. Look at this quote from Dante Moore about his head coach. “You attack our head coach, it’s like attacking my dad, to be honest,” Moore said. “It’s like you’re attacking a family member.” I don’t think Gundy has that anymore and quite honestly he may have fired some coaches that did. I really think he is positioning to try to make a push for more restraints as there needs to be for the good of the sport, but I think he has lost touch with the players and that is not good for OSU.

Go look at how Oregon handled Colorado last year and what Lanning said, “Thry play for clicks, we play for wins.” Something to that affect.

You don’t piss a man like that off. Period. If there’s even a remote chance that what you say can be used as a weapon against you, then don’t say it.

Gundy needs to be done. It’s that simple. Today was a historical embarrassment for the staff, team, donors, alumni, and fan base. I could add more, but won’t.

All he said was that Oregon had a lot of money to pay players. A factual statement. How is that an attack?

It wasn’t intended as such, but it was taken that way. Which gave Oregon added motivation.

LOL Oregon was going to kick our ass regardless. And yes money had a lot to do with that (them kicking our ass)

Why does everyone want to discount the truth? Life is more simple if you just look at the facts and understand what they mean.

Who said anything about a natty? The guy keeps proving he can’t win his own conference for 14+ years. Now he’s proving he can’t make a bowl game.

Would be nice to get Hey Champ’s opinion on this. Since he claims to be the wisest one here. Maybe even Michael13’s. Because, you know, we don’t know anything about football supposedly :man_shrugging:.

41-3 at halftime…yeah, our resident Gundy defenders won’t dare show their faces. They’ll wait til tomorrow or Monday to pop back up.

The SILVER LINING people are missing here is that Gundy doesn’t have to worry about anyone poaching his coordinators.

That is a truth that hurts lol
