Bill was NEVER an option. 
I would bet if you used some of Traber’s truth syrum on Weiberg you’d find that Bill was an option, albeit a 5 minute option. Just long enough to officially call and throw out some wild proposal, followed by an official (behind the scenes) no. It would be a .000001% chance of success, but stuff like that is always an option until it’s not. Better to spend a short call that results in a no than find out 2, 5, 10 years down the road that Bill told someone in an interview he was intrigued but no one contacted him.
