All decade team

With one game left in this decade, I want to see your all osu decade team. Obviously a few spots are given, but using conference rules but will change FB to a flex. So 5 OL, 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, and the flex for offense. For defense: 5 DL, 3 LB, 5 DB. Finally, 1 P, 1 PK, 1 RS.

Mine will be different because I started school at OSU in 2015 and I didn’t pay much attention before then

QB: Weeden
RB: Chuba and Justice
WR: Blackmon, Washington, Wallace
TE: Jarwin (not used enough)
OL: Keyes, Lundblade, Crabtree, J. Wilson, Jenkins
Flex: Stoner (absolutely love this guy)

DL: Ogbah, Brailford, V. Taylor, Owens, Enoch Smith Jr.
LB: Chad Whitner, Simmons, Lewis
DB: Flowers, Sterns, Green, Peel (already a baller), Gilbert

K: Grogan
P: Sharp
R: I guess Gilbert? Since I’ve been at OSU only we’ve only had 1 return for a TD, Mcclesky at Tech.

Again most of mine are gonna be from 2015 to 2019. Though even I know how good Weeden and Blackmon were.

Just doesn’t have the results compared to Rosholt… I struggled at 149, so just put JO twice. Could’ve put Collica, but only placed once. Kindig was a finalist and a friend… But only placed once.

Ringer should really be at 165 but I would rather have Caldwell on there than JoJo at 157…

Agreed on 57/65. Too bad Collica didn’t that the tourney he should have as a senior. I still don’t know about Rosholt, I just think Z was better. It sucks that he was injured as often as he was (plus OSU should really go to russia more to get wrestlers, suck it Penn State)

Former Soviet block nations, Japan, and Cuba are ripe for OSU to go pick guys out of… Would be so awesome if we started cherry picking those guys. OSU still carries a lot of weight in those places. Every time I see a video of training there’s always somebody with an OSU wrestling shirt.

I think Boo Lewallen and Z… And maybe Kaid Brock… Are the biggest “what ifs” for OSU wrestling this decade for sure.

Maybe Chance M. as well, though for different reason than those guys

Chance was… an interesting cat. We ran in similar circles (he was one of the youngest, I one of the oldest) and I never quite figured him out. I think he really is/was bipolar to some degree because his mentality towards wrestling and school and people in general changed every week. I wish we could’ve seen him wrestle and prove what he was capable of.

People always give OSU a bad rap for making him cut down to 157 instead of letting him go 165… Just completely ignoring that one of the best college wrestlers of a generation was our 165 pounder in Ringer.

yeah, but I guess the question comes down to if John made him cut or if he chose to cut to get into the lineup. Personally, when I was forced to cut weight, it never turned out well for anyone.

I like the way you did that. On a related note, I would love a virtual game between 2011-Offense/2013-Defense vs. 1988-Offense/1984-Defense.

Shoot it into my veins!!!
