I actually kind of love it . Yes we have more to lose than gain on paper . But bw south Alabama this season and the jack rabbits and the ghost of the Chippewas that haunt BPS we’d better have our heads on straight .

Yea anyone with a brain knows these games are scheduled years in advance. To say we did something stupid is stupid in itself.

I like that this game is on the schedule. Maybe we can come out and make a statement? Instead of going into a 13-7 slobberknocker with an FCS school during the fourth quarter.

This should shape up just like the last time we opened up with a National championship team .

The have the 7th most FCS wins in the 2010s. 2 of the teams in front of them are in the FBS now. Seems like they’re a top 5 team to me. It was insanely stupid to schedule this game and if you can’t see that you’re blind.

Go check out their rankings, not top 10 the entire decade. Get your facts straight. As far as being stupid playing them next year I hear the argument both ways coming from the trolls so complaining for the sake of complaining. Standard troll fare.

OSU fans tout top 10 in wins since 2010 but top 5 in FCS wins is nothing? This game was put on the schedule in 2022 by the way. SDSU was a known commodity at the time of scheduling. Insanely dumb game to play. No credit if you win and higher chance of losing compared to probably the bottom quarter of P5 teams and most of the G5. If you think this is a troll you’re insane.

@bill18 @TheButcher Ok, some of you need help learning how these schedules are formed. The BIG/REPUTABLE Power 5 Non-Con games are indeed scheduled many years (sometimes 10yrs) in advance. But the games like this, are not. Those are scheduled in a much shorter window. This particular game was scheduled in July of 22’.
What in the world would one “like” about playing a team that brings zero recognition if you win it, but massively hurts your resume if you lose it? There is absolutely nothing good that comes of scheduling this game. This program has played 3 games in the last 5 years against teams similar to OSU. 2019 they lost at Minnesota by 7. 21’ they beat Colorado St 42-23. In 2022, they lost 7-3 to Iowa. Scheduling this game was absolute dumbassery

I think you misunderstood what I said. I’m glad this game is on the schedule. Strictly because it’s going to show if we are still going to play down to the level of the competition as normal, or if we’re going to be serious about blowing out a team we probably should, and not giving our fans a heart attack or anything to worry about.
Considering how we typically fair in the early season. I’m willing to bet this has the making of a close game going into the fourth quarter. See Central Arkansas and Missouri State for recent examples.

I think I understand how the schedules are formed. Especially with how extensive this blog has gone over the next time a bedlam could potentially be on the schedule over the past year .
What I like about this is it could be embarrassing for Gundy to lose this game and I think he will be sweating it . My hope is there will be a fire lit under his ess that will continue to smolder this offseason . Who tf knows about that tho ? I feel this program often plays to the level of Their competition unfortunately and we’ve had some… sluggish starts as of late . The one start where I feel we had a fire from the jump was Florida state fresh off their NC season .
Do FSU and SDSU compare ? No
Do I think our players watched that NC game The jackrabbits just played? Yes
Do I think our coaches/players feel the sting of embarrassment after the performance or lack there of from this seasons south Alabama game ? YES!
Listen if I were an ou fan I’d hate this game too. But we’re different we can’t do the things ou does . People don’t answer our phone calls . Heck we had Clemson on the schedule and I WANTED that game, wanted to go To it too. I was disappointed when it fell through . I wonder if Clemson got too big for their britches ? Maybe got scared bc I feel like a lot of teams view us like a SDSU team. Too much to lose to schedule and risk an upset .
I like HCMG and his cockiness but cockiness will only get us so far and it has ! But this is one of those games that we’re gonna have to walk the talk, rubber needs to meet the road kinda deal.
