You asked what’s acceptable? I think 7-5 or better. Those 7 toss ups (Tenn, Texas, @Mizzou, @Auburn, @Ole Miss, Bama, @LSU) are tough. If he can win 2 & be competitive in the other 5, inside the program it’ll be fine. If those 2 W’s come from Texas, Bama or LSU……it’ll be fine. I think fans are going to be shockingly patient this initial SEC year.
I’m not sold on LSU. I think Kelly is a fraud. The huge game is the Tennessee opener. They have to win that one. The optimistic scenario is OU going to LSU with a likely playoff berth on the line.
