I am not sure about this. I think OSU has to go undefeated to make the CFP. If we lose one game, I think we are most likely left out. However, if we go undefeated and win the Big XII, even with a crappy non-conference slate, I think we are a lock to make the CFP. This seems to incentivize scheduling a weak non-conference slate (the Art Briles strategy).
That said, scheduling three patsies has its drawbacks. It is no fun for the fans, garners no national attention, and does not prepare the team as well for conference play.
Mister hipster u r more out of touch of reality. I my be tongue and cheek on some of my remarks. What do u think they talk about. U must be one of those that think Stillwater is a selling point.
Ok make a list of 10 top things great about Stillwater the town or close area not college related. Then reread it and think like ur 18. If u donât laugh then post it.
At least theyâre trying. Theyâve got a blue turf game at Boise, a home and home with Oregon, a home and home with Michigan state, a home and home with Nebraska, and a double home and home with Arkansas coming up in the upcoming years. Also the only B12 team to play a #1 team in the nation non-con in the past decade. You will never find a big time program that doesnât play at least one cupcake every year. They all do.
I agree. Itâs less about your schedule and more about your status as a program. OU played Moore high school three games in a row to start last season and got in with a loss. Because they had the word âSoonersâ on their chest and nothing else. They then preceded to get smacked to the tune of a NY6 bowl record point margin in their playoff game.
To be fair, OU has only played one consistent winner the past 6 years too in Ohio state and they still get a pass. Itâs all about the name on their chest.
Of course, this is all pointless until we stop losing to unranked teams every other week.
