Five Thoughts on Oklahoma State's Coordinator Hires

You still didn’t answer my question ,

Brown noser, I’ve answered your question several times so pull your head out.

What I’m saying is a guy that recruits at that level shouldn’t be at .500 ball ? So you still don’t get it Course now he has y to o go big on the portal if he can

Yup, two recent trips to the CCG and multiple 10+ win seasons and a fiesta bowl win are signs of lack of success……

Guess you’re missing the entire point. That’s ok, though.

There’s really no guarantee that any coach hired to replace Gundy will get them to that pinnacle. No one views Okstate as a destination school, so the coaching pool will be very limited and timeframe in position will be very short.

No one even knows Okstate even plays football. Half the time when they mention one of our players in the NFL they just say he played at Oklahoma.

And what about 3-9 with 19 returning starters has you so confident for the future? Or hiring coaches that were either fired or downgraded at their previous positions? That sounds more like being content with mediocrity than having championship aspirations :man_shrugging:. Remember that Knowles was a big part of one of those. I don’t think Ohio State will be firing him anytime soon. We can’t say the same for guys like Meacham or Grantham though :+1:.

The point is that you are unfamiliar with what the OSU job is. You are unfamiliar with how theyve historically treated their coaches. You are unfamiliar with the background of the coaches youve hired. You are unfamiliar with the level of consistency that Boise St has shown. Youre unfamiliar with what Florida St has been. Youre unfamiliar with how Texas Tech has performed. Youre unfamiliar with how recruting looks. You continually mentioned things that were flat out uninformed. Its ok to say that you had something incorrect.

“No one views Okstate as a destination school…” ITS BECAUSE ITS NOT! That doesnt mean you cant get really, really good coaches. That doesnt mean you HAVE to keep a coach longer than youd prefer. You are absolutely clueless. Again, take Gundy himself out of the conversation. You dont keep a guy, at any place, in any position, simply because he doesnt wanna go anywhere else. If hes not the right guy…YOU MOVE ON. OSU is a really good job, that can get really good coaches. Of course you may lose him to a place that he feels is a better job…but that means hes doing a great job at your school! Isnt that what you want?? Les Miles did a great job at OSU. He elevated the program and brought in a guy named Mike Gundy. You somehow classify Miles as a bad/wrong move? If you were running things in the manner youve spouted on here, you wouldve either stuck with Simmons (we dont want to fire guys) or never hired Miles/Gundy (I dont want to hire guys without a proven track record) Dude you are clueless.

You mention Gundy going to the Fiesta Bowl. In the 3 years since then, Gundy is 20-19. You took a dump on the FSU program earlier. In that same time span, FSU is 25-14. You took a dump on Texas Tech. Theyre 23-16 in that span, which is better than Gundy. Now, OSU is a better program than Tech. But you continue to be swinging and missing on this thing. Im awating at least one valid point you can make
