And Preston Wilson is headed to the CFL.
Well I guess he can make 60K+ a year still playing this game but man I think it’s time for Bowman to hit the cubicle.
The last qb to win bedlam. I’ll try and always think of him as that.
Why? If someone wants to pay him, why do you care? Maybe they get more points in the UFL if you throw a TD off your back foot.
He’s old and not very good. Not much money to be putting your body through that. Not to mention the fact he’s mediocre. But if he’s cool making some money to play ball a bit longer whatever I don’t really care.
Played his ass off too! Forever grateful at least for that.
That was maybe his best game. He did everything he needed to. That’s the Bowman I was hoping for last year. I don’t know if he just lost confidence or what, but he looked like he was playing scared from the Arkansas game on.
He didn’t have a running game at all, and he got exposed because of it. He was very average in 2023 based on his stats. Had nothing to do with confidence.
Hey champ,
He played well in the OU game because OU was taking away the run and be exploited the coverage. He didn’t do that last season. It was a confidence issue all day. You saw that in the Arkansas game when he got his stupid taunting penalty. That’s a man trying to fake confidence.
Is Arena League Football still around? If so, Bowman will be there after he flames out with the mighty San Antonio franchise that has won one game so far.
I like a QB that can be consistent for most games. Not a Jekyll and Hyde kind of guy. Even in 2023 he wasn’t confident many times. He followed that OU game up by throwing 0 touchdowns and 3 interceptions .
So what about the experience and stability we have now? No OSU QB has even thrown a pass in a college game. Gundy always says it takes a year and a half of starts to figure out how to play major college QB.
What are you even raging about?
Did it take Mason Rudolph, Taylor Cornelius, Clint Chelf, or Brandon Weeden a year and a half to play major college QB? None of these guys played multiple games in a row before figuring it out.
A lot of it depends on who your QB coach is, and who is actually calling the plays. Maybe if you have payroll bandits like Tim Rattay and Kasey Dunn it’ll take two years or longer for a QB to develop some.
The BoR just fired all those jokers for good reason. How Gundy can’t see that his own staff that he hand picked, outside of a very few great hires in his entire career, that became a massive handicap to himself is beyond me.
That’s what happens when you become blind due to your own ignorance. Someone else has to step in and let you know that after years of not having a top 50 offense, and hiring a guy who has no D1 experience aren’t going to make your program grow. It’s called being reasonable and rational.
Thank you bill18. It is nice to know we have a contributor in this forum who knows absolutely everything and is always right. They should change the name of the blog to Bill18 Reigns.
Raging? I am simply generating a discussion about the current state of Cowboy football.
This is a bit of an interesting situation. If HCMG is 100% (absolutely) right we are in for a real struggle next season because our QB’s won’t be very good due to lack of experience. If HCMG is talking in generalities, which he is BTW, about inexperienced QB’s then we may have a chance to avoid total chaos with our QB’s. BTW a lot of what HCMG says is generalized i.e. not absolute. The problem is the “sports fans” around here don’t or don’t want to understand that.
That’s not me. That would be AR (Always Right). He’s been saying it for years. Look, it’s not difficult to see. Even with Jim Knowles in 2021 there was a guy on the other side of the ball that Gundy gave a chance to. That guy (Kasey Dunn) was part of the reason Gundy got screwed out of his second conference title.
Yes, the same guy Gundy was forced to fire because he couldn’t ever get his chit together until midway through the season most of the time he was here. Then again I can’t blame Gundy too much. If people were ignorant enough to keep giving me raises for having a great season once every ten years, and my only requirement is to make one of the 40+ bowl games. Then I’d probably keep letting them think the way they always have .
If you say anything absolutely negative about Gundy or the football program you’re raging according to HeyChump. God forbid there be any kind of criticism after going 0-9 in the conference when returning the second most starters in the country .
