Sanders is top three in OSU’s history in passing, passing TDs, completions, total offense and touchdowns responsible for.
Dude really fcked his final year of college up. Is he even gonna have a degree after 6 years?
I think thats what his deal is. He not that smart. Had issue in school. He was the smartest qb on the field.
Dang that sucks, what could have been…
To be a QB you have to be intelligent. That’s not the problem.
His problem was poor judgement by transferring.
He really messed up OSU’s season. Only loss would have been to Texas. He also messed up his career. Splinters from riding the bench all season.
With his run threat, that would have opened more passing opportunities. All our games would have looked differently. Less mileage on Ollie.
Gundy didn’t try to reason with him, letting him know the gamble he was taking? If that didn’t work, offer him a newer and bigger truck with lots of lettuce in the bed.
Speaking of QB, we need a group prayer, or some kind of voodoo ritual to have Gundy fish for a QB in the portal. Surely some of these talented backups now in the portal would love to be able to be a starter and to hand off the ball to the best RB in college.
Gundy should think about allowing Spencer to “come home” and get ready for the NFL Draft by working out at Oklahoma State.
You are presuming Ollie is coming back. Until I hear it from him … Just saying.
Really hate this for Spencer. Had a big career with us but is about to leave college football without a school to come back to and likely without a lot of interest from the NFL. I hope he lands on his feet but man he’s in a bad spot.
Seriously though, the longer it goes on the bigger the pit in my stomach gets . Doesn’t he know if he announced his intention with us sooner we could build quicker ?
He really made a huge mistake in trying to burn our program down by convincing his buds to transfer out. Whatever nil money he got for this year will be his only payday.
There are two options as I see it:
-
He’s seriously considering transferring and is weighing out his options as well as judging OSU’s best NIL offer.
-
He’s waiting to announce his return following a big game in the Texas Bowl against A&M, and will do so in the post-game presser thus boosting OSU’s profile going into next year moreso than an announcement of his return today would do.
Thus I’ll be patient through the bowl game but if his announcement isn’t soon thereafter, I will become very worried that Gundy’s prized stallion will be leaving the barn.
I really dnt understand what option 2 is about. He cant play any where he didnt take any classes. Droping classes means no grades.
Lmao why would Gundy let him do that? And he is not getting drafted.
Thanks I’ve taken a step back from the ledge now.
The kid seems loyal as a teenager can be in the face of all this money and well deserved hype.
I take him playing in the bowl game as a good sign .
I think @aix_xpert is talking about Ollie
Correct. I was responding to @TheButcher who was talking about Ollie.
Let’s be real though. Spencer wasn’t likely a future NFLer. Even if his throwing did improve from his OSU days, his injury history would be a show-stopper for the type QB he is. So understanding that, its hard to fault a kid for chasing a payday in football while he could. It sucked for OSU, but if he got the 6 or 7 figures that had been rumored about, I doubt many of the most loyal OSU supporters on this board wouldn’t have made the same decisions he did.
Yeah so many what ifs with SS. IF he stayed another year AND IF he stayed healthy he really could’ve been legendary in OSU lore . He would’ve had promo events around Oklahoma for years . I don’t fault him for taking that guaranteed paycheck though . He was dinged up a lot .
We shouldn’t forget that he was dinged up for OSU though .
I was find that he left. I feel for him that he set the bench there and could have had his best year ever here.
This line gave up less then a sack a game. I mean with bowman it is a true stat.
It goes with most of the guys who left. This goes with the last 2 years. Very few had good years. Most didnt help themselves.
This goes back to the coaches at osu putting players in the best situations
