A massive get for the Pokes.
I would say that is an impressive signing since his dad went to that school in Norman. 4 star kid. 11.18 in the 100 doesn’t really impress me…should it?
4 stars
Now let’s get some maulers up front…
That is the most surprising, dad being a goon. Should be that way though if the kid wants different. Didn’t Kejuan transfer to Tulsa his last year ?
You’re not wrong, 11.18 is not an impressive 100m time, especially at a big 6A school like Jenks. Might be an ok time at a school like Waurika…
No, he stayed at OU. This will end up being a very underwhelming get for the Cowboys. Good player. Not great. Dang sure not an Ollie Gordon. His Dad was just a good player too. 4 stars…is a little high to me. The Cowboys overpaid for a RB, which is a really bad idea in the year 2025.
I think theres some hyperbole in the statement of “massive get for the Pokes”. Use some common sense here on why an in-state OU legacy doesnt commit to OU. On face value, yeah I can see it being a good deal. But you may wait to see what resources were promised/ allocated to this kid and see if you get enough bang for your buck. Im saying he will create more buzz here on this thread than he will in live action. Houston, Kansas, Louisville, were his biggest suitors.
He also had offers from Alabama, Oregon, Tennessee and Ole Miss. you are grading this player based on what his dad did. Kejuan was only about 5’9” wasn’t he? His son is 6’0”. For you to already know that his NIL outweighs his talent since he didn’t sign with the goons is just hogwash.
Ahh youre right. I think the dude is overrated simply because he didnt sign with OU.
"5’9” wasn’t he? His son is 6’0”…Please explain to me how his height matters in terms of being a good RB? Theres a statue in Detroit of a pretty good RB who was 5’8".
If you think he had an actual offer from Alabama…then youre drunk.
If you did just a little bit of research …youd find what im talking about in terms of NIL deal that he received from the Cowboys V the one he didnt in Norman.
Hey, I hope he turns out to be a great player. But the circumstances that led to him picking the Cowboys are what they are. Maybe he really, really just wanted to be a Cowboy. Or…he took the best offer he was given. Time will tell what type of player he ends up being.
Height is merely a way to see how much weight a kid can pack on. Barry Sanders was beyond an elite talent, he was legendary.
The author stated he had an offer from Alabama and I have no reason to believe he didn’t.
Where do you research all your NIL offer information? How do you get the inside scoop? No one else knows? Tell us specifically how much he was paid. Please outline his NIL deal for us. I’m betting you only have rumors.
If you don’t think you’re biased here, being a Sooner fan, you’re drunk.
The chances are that any given kid will not become a star at the next level.
You can only say that the Pokes overpaid, if you have something/someone to compare it to. What '25 RB, that we have a legitimate shot at, would have been a better spend of our precious NIL dollars? Which RB would you have pulled?
The problem is you get his father as well.
“Height is merely a way to see how much weight a kid can pack on. Barry Sanders was beyond an elite talent, he was legendary” I couldnt care less what his height is. Neither should you. Hes listed right now at 170 and isnt a burner as it is. You pack 15lbs on him…we shall see.
“The author stated he had an offer from Alabama and I have no reason to believe he didn’t” Believe as you wish. If you choose to believe that Kaydin Jones chose OSU over Alabama…so be it.
“Where do you research all your NIL offer information?” I have a little more access than some. I have some very close ties to the Athletic Depts in Lubbock, Arkansas, Nebraska, Stillwater and Norman, so ive gotten a front row seat to some of these things. I have gone through the NIL process with some families recently in other sports. I am not in the inner circle of Kaydin Jones.
“How do you get the inside scoop? No one else knows?” I dont claim to know every detail. But I do know some. I also have enough common sense to fill in some of the information that I am not privy to.
“Tell us specifically how much he was paid. Please outline his NIL deal for us” I do not know the exact details. I only know that OU was not offering anything up front. They felt as though they needed to spend those assets elsewhere. I know that OSU was “the best deal he got”. As far as specific dollar amount, I was not given an answer. I suspect the exact offer isnt known by the person I talked to. I also suspect that the exact amount is much lower than what Jones & his crew sought when he began the recruiting process.
“If you don’t think you’re biased here, being a Sooner fan, you’re drunk” Ive been on this site off and on for about 5 years. I cant stand Gundy, but have zero disgust or dislike of OSU. I have plenty of ties within the Athletic Dept up there, including some family. Ive never posted anything on here that was driven by the fact than I am on OU fan at heart.
You feel as you wish. I think hes going to be a very average player. OU backed off and he chose the Cowboys. If you dont believe that…then you are the one whos biased. Jones will not move the needle one iota in Stilly.
You say he’s 170, the article states 185. You so freely mix in your opinions with presumed facts. You believe whatever you want. The chances this kid becomes a star is remote, but not because of your opinions. Ollie Gordon and Chuba Hubbard became stars and they didn’t go to Alabama or OU. Go have another drink, it’s past noon now.
I never said anything about being a star. I said he wont move the needle one iota. There are plenty of very good RB’s that have come out of Stillwater. This will not be one of them
The article also led you to believe he chose Bama over OSU. So…like I said…hes 170lbs. Believe as you wish. Carry on.
