I’m still not seeing much love go to Reba
The answer is Garth. A lot of Red Dirt guys in here… I’d throw All American Rejects in the mix, pretty successful in their respective scene.
There’s a difference between success and greatness.
Garth is Garth… But he isn’t the songwriter some of the others listed are. He didn’t write “Friends in Low Places.”
Red Dirt RULES
Not voting, but can’t believe no one has mentioned Blake Shelton and that OU lapdog Toby Keith. Both are hugely more successful than most mentioned here.
Commercial success does not equal greatness in my mind.
Toby Keith? Maaan, come on.
Can’t stand him but, by most standards, the definition “Greatest” definitely could include commercial success.
Bet you Boland would say Bob Childers hands down. Dylan of the Dust for a reason.
At least he’s the one gooner that admits he “Should’ve Been a Cowboy”
Roger Miller should at least make the list.
Bob made a guest appearance at every Boland concert in Stilly back in the old days.
Roger Miller and I’m not a fan of country music! And I gotta mention cause we share an alma mater, The Gap Band.
Forgot the Gap Band was Oklahoma. Tulsa, right? They definitely belong on the list to bring in another genre.
The Nixons had a bit of success with the song “Sister”. Then they fizzled, unfortunately.
No ones mentioned the Hansons?
Look at the posts around 12 days ago.
My bad, I didn’t see that one haha
G - Greenwood
A - Archer
