Well… Answer the guy. What is wrong with the other two demands
These are demands from kids that don’t like authority or rules that make them feel uncomfortable to better than selves when they get older. Yet they are too young and ignorant to know the meaning behind it. It’s really simple
People that have any kind of fight for equality should be done with Chuba and let him know that. Equality represents freedom of speech and everybody should have an opinion and he took that opinion away from Gundy and that’s not right whote black or yellow!
Chuba didn’t take away anyone’s freedom of speech. He just expressed his. Gundy can express himself how he wants and he can accept the consequences that go along with it.
It’s always people on the left are “being told what to think”
It’s like news stations like fox news and OAN don’t exist to brainwash the right as well.
Dude are you really that blind??? He had to apologize twice on national TV and can’t wear that shirt again because it offends somebody!!! Are you serious. Can’t deal with you
Almost took a lot more away from him And maybe for the rest of his life.
He didn’t have to apologize. He chose to. I’m grateful he did. Go Pokes!
If you want to be a coach in a football program that pays you $5.2 million per year, you had better be on the same page as the majority of the football players who happen to be black. Yes. Superior athletes in football are mostly black and that is a fact. If you want those superior athletes to play for you, the coach needs to be empathetic to the players views. Think how the recruiting pitch would be to star black players otherwise. Well you wont have one that will get you a 2 star nevermind a 4 star player. Gundy can be a conservative and watch OAN. But he cannot flaunt his beliefs on the players that ultimately keep him in his job paying over $5 million. For those that berate Chuba for being a 21 year old kid that does not know any better… well you just don’t get the reality. He is a super athlete among super athletes. That gives him a lot of power just like superstars in the same sport and other sports and fields. He can sway the mood of the entire current football team and anyone considering coming to OKstate as a football player for several years to come. That makes people who just cannot see the perspective of black players or anyone else that agrees with them completely irrelevant. Because the school will want to have success in football and will prioritize what it takes to get the best players to come to OKstate.
Good article. I have always been in Mike Gundys corner when others were trashing him. I believed that he was a players coach and a good coach. I overlooked a lot. I began to question him over his response to the covid 19 virus. Then, when he wore the OAN tshirt, I was done with him because I understood the affect it would have on his black student athletes especially at a time when we are witnessing murders of black people on tv and hearing about them every single day. You would have to be blinded by your racism not to understand how this affects the black community. As I said, I was done with MG at that point and then to not even apologize when he and Chuba somewhat mended fences on twitter. I will say him coming out with an apology and showing some humility after the twitter deal, I gave him a second look gaining some respect back. I hope he will show love and respect to all of his football players and OSU will have a good season. I do want to say that I am so impressed with the integrity of Chuba and other football players. They have been the adults in this situation and are worthy of honor and respect. At least, they certainly have my respect. GO POKES!!
Kyle, you’re a joke! Sick of you bagging on Gundy!
I would have kicked Chuba off the team!
So when can we expect Kyle Boone to apologize for substituting his childish emotions for true journalism? My guess is never, because it takes a mature adult to do something like that…
They have a public job where their personal behavior reflects on the organization.
If you think “putting the situation to rest in a positive manner” has occurred you might want to reflect on how long “the rant” was brought up. Oh wait that is still happening and had zero connection to anything resembling historical protests. oSu will be beat up in the media for years and worst of all it will be a self inflicted wound.
So Chanel Rion with OAN will be in Tulsa on Saturday for the Trump rally. She has challenged those players and faculty to sit down with her and discuss this alleged false information you are talking about.
You know no one will have that honest discussion with her. You think Chuba would have the courage to do that? It’s so much easier to just spread the lies and falsehoods about OAN and then run and hide. I would challenge you to even point out the supposedly false information you are claiming they spread. Chances are you can’t and it’s probably even more true, you know nothing about OAN and are just parroting the lies others have told you.
It is about politics and racism, only not the racism you think.
Is this the example you want to send? That people aren’t allowed to have their personal beliefs? That they must conform to what their players believe or what the groupthink is, and anyone not obeying will be punished?
Yours will be a crappy society to live in. Is that what you learned at OSU?
How about we respect others beliefs? That we allow free speech? That we discuss ideas openly and honestly? That we are allowed to think for ourselves and not be forced into the mold others want for us? That we use critical thinking skills? That we recognize diversity of opinion? That we look for facts and not supposition or opinion? That we actually do research before spouting nonsense to gain the appreciation of others? I don’t want to live in your utopia. Thanks but no thanks.
I don’t know anything about racial problems on the football team at OSU. I do know that OAN is not racist. That would be a lie. Have you ever even watched it? Probably not.
I also wonder why Chuba, who could be making millions right now would want to come back to a racist organization. He chose that. I wonder why. Probably because it is not racist at all and he is being led by the nose by a radical, violent, BLM organization to make those ridiculous comments. Oh, and they were ridiculous. Just more fake news. Remember the Russia hoax?
I have great sadness for my Alma Mater as these things reflect badly on the individuals but also the institution. A college should be teaching more that reading, riting, and rithmatic. Something like respect, logic, and critical thinking instead of racism and groupthink. So sad to see so many buying into it.
Or alternative news channels that present a different point of view. Note how the main news channels got it all wrong about the Russia collusion hoax. Not only was it totally and completely false, it was illegally setup by our intelligence agencies and the Democratic Party to destroy a person who duly won a Presidential election and then to keep him from governing. Note the key word illegal.
Those news organizations still refuse to admit they were wrong. They have another election to steal. They also acted in lockstep. Same words on every channel like they colluded or something. What news channels got it right? Fox and OAN for starters.
Brainwashing? C’mon man.
You would have to be blinded by racism to think that OAN and Mike Gundy have anything to do with murders of black people on TV. Any “affect” OAN and Gundy would have on black athletes is pure absurdity being pedaled by race agitators to gin up hatred and racism. There is no correlation.
You think OAN and Gundy are running around saying and doing blatantly racist things? How can any honest conversation begin with that false representation?
Coach Gundy had no choice but to apologize for four good reasons.
- The fear of losing his best player in case a miracle occurs and we do have a football season.
- The Athletic Director told him to apologize and picked someone to write the script.
- The President of the University told the Athletic Director to have Coach Gundy apologize.
- With a salary of over 5 million a year plus bonus it is not hard to swallow one’s pride and offer an apology.
You might want to check a different source than politico. That man IS a professional agitator. He WAS working with a violent anarchist group Antifa to hack into and disrupt police communications. That IS what he was doing. It is why he was there confronting those policeman who were trying to do their job. He is not a “peaceful” protestor. It’s not a conspiracy theory.
In any case, by your logic, if someone reports something that is not true, they are a racist organization and football coaches are not allowed to wear their logo.
Well, what about the fake Russia collusion hoax? Or the Charlottesville race hoax on Trumps comments taken completely out of context? Or any of the networks that falsely called Trump a racist, a Hitler, and a lunatic? A whole lot of logos there must be racist.
Your attack on Rion is just childish and not worth a reply. It shows your intentional bias. You think Jim Acosta has journalist credibility?
I don’t know anything about Posobiec but I know a whole lot of hosts on the other networks are leftist activists. That doesn’t make them racists or Black Panthers so people shouldn’t wear their stations logos.
