Oregon’s offense spent most of the first half running what amounted to an open practice as the Ducks moved the ball seemingly at will, putting Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy in the largest halftime deficit of his tenure (38 points). Oregon kept its foot firmly on the gas until pulling starting quarterback Dante Moore with 7:16 left in the third, which was more than enough to secure a 69-3 win. Oklahoma State’s largest loss of all time came by 75 points to Oklahoma in 1904. Moore finished 16-of-21 passing the ball for 266 yards and three touchdowns. He also finished with 11 rushing yards on two carries. Oregon outgained the Cowboys 312-144 on the ground, while averaging 8.4 yards per carry to OSU’s average rush of only 3.4. Quarterback Zane Flores finished the first start of his career 7-of-19 for 67 yards with two pick-sixes thrown on back-to-back plays in the final minutes of the third quarter. If there were any bright spots for the Cowboys (1-1) on Saturday, they weren’t impactful enough, but linebacker Bryan McCoy Jr. picked up where he left off last week, recording a team-high nine tackles, including 0.5 for for loss in a game that…
In the great words of Arthur Morgan “when the time comes, you gotta run and don’t look back…this is over.” Put a fork in it this program is cooked.
I don’t enjoy football anymore. That’s the Gundy effect
I predicted 45-3. It’s worse than I thought it was. The “historic and consistent” coach is now becoming historically and consistently bad. I told you guys. He’s on the Gary Patterson path. We just need to start searching for our Kenny Dillingham
.
I can fully understand. What we just witnessed was far from just not being fun
Gundy has to go. I’ve been a Gundy defender longer than many, but this is the last straw for me. Do we have less talent? Yes. But the gap is not that big. Things like not having enough players on the field twice in a row is unacceptable.
If Gundy is back next year I see no reason to renew my season tickets. This is beyond embarrassing. Just happy I didn’t make the decision to travel to Oregon for the game…
So is it still a funding issue for you now? Or be like a Pharisee? In which you witness something undeniable, but still remain in denial?
Just when you thought we were the laughing stock of the country for hiring Grantham….well then you get this masterpiece. Utter all around garbage
https://x.com/joe_mussatto/status/1964455799604072804?s=46&t=BmJSzo3MpAPX6US8Dx5BtA And people think there isn’t a coaching problem.
I’m interested on how you concluded this? Watching the game I saw a huge talent gap.
This will be relevant once we have some B12 play behind us.
It’s incredible to me how naive and stupid some people can be on here. Even Montana State was good enough to put up a touchdown and not have 60+ put on them. Our talent isn’t even good enough to win the Big Sky.
Will Chad Weiberg reenact the Lane Kiffin scenario and fire Gundy on the Stillwater Airport tarmac? I hope not. Who would take over for the year and do they really want to pay the buyout? I don’t think so.
I would SO respect him if he did. Enough of this less than mediocre crap. But of course no one at school has the balls to do something like that. You had Gundy on the ropes at the end of last season and didn’t finish him.
Well it has to happen sometime. The board here votes yes so let’s give the people what they want. I’ll be looking forward to the peace and quiet and perhaps some sane OSU football discussion.
Until of course it doesn’t work out with the new coach and we will be back at it again
Remind me, how many times has DC Grantham been fired?
Can we quit pretending like things that happened in 1907 and 1904 have any relevance to modern college football?
This is the biggest loss in OSU football history, period.
History or not it’s a game no one wants to watch except for the most sadistic Oregon fan.
There’s a reason he was an analyst under Saban and had no official coaching position. Of course, I got scolded by the usual suspects for mentioning that
. Notice how none of them are here.
