Its sad to say, but we just aren’t very good. I said this after the UT-Martin game, other than Gregory (and Hejny), who stands out talent wise? I feel for the next coach, because Gundy left the cupboard bare.

I’m saying next coach fails unless he’s like god tier. That’s three years minimum. Guy after that has a real chance, so five years minimum before we compete again if we make a good hire.

I agree it’s a 5 year minimum until we’re remotely respectable. But I think we’re really looking at a decade to get our house in order and stable enough where anyone worth anything will consider coming to coach here.

Gundy is responsible for destroying the program just similar to the way Boynton destroyed the basketball program. If it takes 5 or 10 years to be competitive again, I sure as heck don’t want to see his name in the ring of honor or on the field, and definitely not a statue!
