Not an ideal start for the Pokes, but a win is a win.

Unless there’s some massive improvement, then you better stock up on booze and BP meds for a long season

Bowman was the least impressive, but our WRs didn’t do Rangel or Bowman any favors. Way too many dropped balls. R angel’s interception wasn’t his fault. The OL broke down extremely fast on that one.

Not ready to freak out just yet. I will say that the win isn’t ideal. I think Rangel is our best QB. The defense looks solid to me. Giving up almost 400 yards of offense isn’t ideal for a team like CA, but they stopped them when needed. Basically it boiled down to the first year DC preventing us from losing. While the tenured HC, OC, and OL coach pretty much had no answers. That’s a bad situation to be in.

Bowman was the least impressive QB - regularly throwing the ball off his back foot and missing his receivers. We’re down to Rangel or Gundy with Bowman taking his normal place on the bench in third place.

I don’t see what people see in Rangel. I thought he was the worst of the 3. Not a pretty win, but you look around and Baylor gets beat and Texas Tech is in a dog fight. I’ll take the W, but this team needs to keep improving.

Really? I don’t know what you’re talking about. Bowman had the worst stats of the three. He also showed his ability to not be able to run and not avoid a collapsing pocket. Rangel completed 66% of his passes and Gunnar completed 77% of his passes. Bowman was just over 50% and look flustered.

Can’t defend the short pass.
We have 3 mediocre QB’s. Can’t win big games with less than a star QB.
Ollie, yes!!!
Stribling, yes.
Presley, yes.

This is nothing new folks. Got gundy’d

Looks like every other year. Looks like a team that recruits in the 40’s with D-2 assistant coaches. Things are going as planed.

How many balls did receivers drop from Bowman? Did Bowman throw any interceptions? Rangel did have a touchdown pass if you can call it that. Screen pass where the receiver did all the work.

Obviously way too many dropped passes that were well thrown. Way too many.
OL looked suspect, but maybe…. Ah, never mind.
I have been cynical about Gundy Jr, but he looked good.
Glad to get the W.

Bowman throws looked more crisp and on target for the most part. Gundy looked good. Rangel looked like last year, average.

Thank you! Somebody else sees it.

Honestly it was hard to evaluate Rangel and Bowman because our run game was non existent, Gundy had the advantage of the run game coming alive in the 4th and that opened up the pass. Run game is going to have to be there for any of them to be successful.

Bowman averaged 3.3 yards per pass completion (54%) . The interception wasn’t Rangel’s fault. He got creamed while trying to throw the ball because his OL sucks and whiffs on blocks. Also, Bowman threw for 80 yards and ZERO touchdowns. There’s a reason he was third string at Michigan, and he proved it tonight. Rangel threw for 118 yards (66%). Also, Rangel ran for a first down while Bowman couldn’t. It wasn’t even close who the better QB on the field was.

I’ll take the guy that can actually move the team forward, instead of the guy that sits 50 yards behind the OL and throws off his back foot nearly every pass.

You’re a piece of work Joey. The interception wasn’t Rangel’s fault… delusional. Who’s fault was it??? I’m sure it is somehow Gundy’s fault. Rangel can throw interceptions and you blame it on the O-Line, but when Bowman throws off his back foot or receivers drop passes that is all on Bowman. Get a clue dude!

Everyone tells to go of results. We gunnar would be the one. The bowman with to scoring drives and no pics.

I dnt know what happened with the run game, but we need it to get sarted faster.

Got to stop our history of bad 3rd quarters. This was a good test. I dnt care what there record was last year. That is their offense with a really experienced rb and qb.

Things to clean up.
Flags, first game blah blah
Dropped passing, cant have another year
Joe still cant hike the ball.
These things stopped drives.

This offense we will seen in ksu.

And no one is trying to hire our assistant coaches. Because Gundy really hates it when one of his coaches move on to bigger and better things.
