I’m cautiously optimistic that our offense will look more like the offense on the first drive last week, and less like the rest of the game. I’m concerned that Gundy’s “simplify” message kept us from running plays with pulling linemen, certain motions, and player reads. I don’t think the defense is very good, and likely still won’t, but I’m hopeful the offense looks less basic.

At this point, I’m just hoping OSU is competitive. Baylor has injuries on defense so that could a factor.

I’d be surprised if the stadium was 2/3 full.

Season ticket holder sections are pretty decent for how bad the team is.

Watching Notre Dame blowing the doors off of Arkansas, I wouldn’t be surprised if they fire Pittman very soon. I’m sure they have some deep pockets, not to mention the allure of being in the SEC. This is why letting Gundy go now was the right call.

1st Drive: Offense didn’t execute well, as Flores was inaccurate on 2nd down and missed #17 (Freeman?) wide open on the out cut on 3rd. But the playcalling, imo, was better. We Gap blocked (as opposed to zone block) on the 1st down call, and you can see the guard actually move up to the 2nd level and take the LB, and giving Fields a 1v1 on a DB.
Defensively, we still can’t tackle, and shocker, we still can’t cover a wheel route.

At least the offense looks a little different than what I’m used to watching Gundy do. Defense looks like it’ll be the worst in college football again.

Oh wow, we’re still bad even with a new coach? Weird how scapegoating one person didn’t magically fix everything overnight. But hey, let’s make more emotional decisions. I hear that well run organizations prefer those.

Gundy’s finger was all over this offense and it is evident as sht now.

Not everything, but apparantly some things. We had more wildcat on that drive than we ran in 3 games previously. Heck, and its not just the “wow” plays. On the 1st 3rd down that was well-defended, did you realize we threw a crosser in the middle of field. We’ve run like 2 of those in 3 games previously. Through one quarter, the offense is night and day better.

There’s been more offense in one quarter against a decent Baylor team. Then there was in the entire game against Tulsa. Guess who isn’t in the sidelines?
