Mike Gundy Changed Our World, for Better and for Worse

It’s one thing to criticize a coach for his job performance. Then it’s another to plaster his political beliefs (probably knowing) that it’s just going to tick some people off.

Let’s get real here. College campuses are no longer required to ensure their students use any kind of critical thinking skills any longer. Campuses have become a factory for lambs being led to the slaughter. Reason being because they are just out of high school and they have some old liberal fart seeking to change things in his or her views so desperately they aren’t willing to give the full truth and only half truths.

Neither political party is fully correct and they both have a personal agenda. So if Gundy wants to support OAN then fine. The only time I would see a problem with it is if it creates a distinctive gap in the punishment or treatment of his players that is not equal. I haven’t found any evidence in Gundy’s career so far that reveals this is the case.

Knowing the probable ideology of the campus Kyle and Kyle knew this would tick some people off and social media was the perfect place to do it with how often the younger generation is involved with social media outlets. I don’t think Gundy minds being criticized on a coaching perspective by social media outlets. I think it’s totally different when you start involving personal matters. Then those very same people that went on the attack cry when someone decides to pull a counter move against them.

So do you think if someone hits you in the face your not going to hit back? Are you just going to stand there and take it? You don’t have to be part of a certain political party to treat people with basic dignity and respect. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Don’t act shocked when they get upset after being sucker punched from behind.

I think it’s shows the maturity level of Gundy in a lot of ways. Gundy isn’t afraid of kicking good players off his team (See Tyreek Hill and Prentiss Ellliot).

Would have been easy to say “Well if you don’t like my shirt or politics then I guess you can go pound sand”. Gundy instead decided to have a one on one straight forward conversation with Chuba instead of having a tweet war with his players and other media outlets.

Despite taking the mature approach to it everyone was still intent on dragging him through the mud and for the most part forcing him to apologize for really not doing anything remotely wrong.

You spent the entire spring writing article after article that kept pissing the players off over and over, and they were continually vocal about it. That’s not an OSU problem, or a Gundy problem. It’s 100% directly a PFB problem. If you didn’t want OSU to shut you out, you shouldn’t have written stuff in a agenda-driven way that you knew would anger the players. Either that, or you didn’t know and you’re less intelligent than I thought, but I know that’s not the case. I know you were smart enough to know what you were doing. If the football team doesn’t want you around the players because of that, it makes full sense.

This article will not help you get those credentials, I promise you that. It does not help that since the phone call you have been Moore critical than ever. Gundy has not done himself any favors in that regard, but at this point articles and posts like this just come off as whining.

Robert Allen doesn’t do things to deliberately piss the players off. And he’s the sideline reporter for the football team. Way closer to the program than the PFB guys are.

You also have to think about Gundy’s timeline with media in general. That may be his fault, it may not, but it’s ultimately his choice. He’s had issues with the media before PFB ever came along. A good percentage of those issues are probably his fault, sure, but I can see why he wouldn’t trust or want any media coverage around that he doesn’t have to allow. Especially if it could end up rubbing players the wrong way. And looking at the responses of players to various topics written by PFB, both last fall and this spring, it seems like he was on the money.

Then don’t use the pretext of “it’s a blog.” If you make 5 million be man enough to say you’re too thin skinned to allow someone critical in the building.

FYI I was told, Gundy doesn’t mind criticism, he’s just not going to take it from somebody who doesn’t work at a newspaper. Something along those lines.

Newspaper > CBS sports I guess :man_shrugging:t3::roll_eyes:

So this explains some of the political agenda from this summer.

AHHHHH This is great!!!

I said it…You keep writing articles about how bad Gundy sucks…Well what did you expect

Then in order to get back at him…you wrote more anti-Gundy articles. Just to top it off with a “Doctor. Gundy Podcast”… Which he was right…seems like everyone is coming back to practice and play games. I tell you what PFB. How about move to Stillwater, and START going to games instead of living in Dallas. It’s like someone in Poland reporting on the cowboys…it can’t be done.

Good luck covering Oklahoma State badminton

No, there was not a political agenda against Gundy. PFB didn’t criticize MG for his political views but rather his unchecked power. Unchecked power is problem regardless of party affiliation.

Ain’t that the truth…

It’s his ■■■■ right to wear whatever he wants on his day off.

Now on campus and game days…that’s different>>

Well the reasons HCMG pulled PFB’s credentials may have been as he said over the phone, i.e. doesn’t like blogs, or it could have been more than that, perhaps somethings that PFB said or reported on that he didn’t like. One will probably never know but regardless it was his decision to make and he made it. At least he was respectful enough to give Kyle a call to personally tell him the news, HCMG could have just as easily had a staff member send a quick email or something of that nature announcing the removal of credentials. As it turns out it looks like HCMG probably made the correct call after all the OAN crap that PFB pulled.

And PFB has the right to write publish stories about it.

Yeah, cause PFB made Gundy wear that shirt, take a picture in it and then allow the fishing guide to post it on the internet.

Unchecked power? What does that even mean? Are you trying equate HCMG to Stalin or Mao Zedong or something like that?

They tweeted the picture to the proper audience knowing, or at least hoping, that it would create a stir and it in fact did.

The tweet made zero value judgments about the shirt.
