Mike Gundy Changed Our World, for Better and for Worse

Not true, KB commented on it and it was not favorable

He commented on the quality of the apology, not the shirt.

Go look at KB’s original tweet if you can find it

@bruce4 KP beat me too it.

Yeah, but don’t ***** about what happens because of the consequences. This article was basically a cry for ā€œWhy does Gundy treat us so bad?ā€ā€¦

No, no. I’m OK with how he treated us. He was very kind about it. What I want is a reason that actually makes sense. Not ā€œI don’t believe in blogs.ā€ If he said, ā€œYour coverage has been inaccurate and unprofessionalā€ and gave examples, I would be fine with that.

Every year after Bedlam, when the rest of you are hollering about how OSU should fire Gundy because he lost to OU again, I have to write an article about how good he’s been over the course of his career and how silly it is to judge his tenure on one opponent.

One year, I had a staffer text me to tell me he printed out that article and gave it to Gundy as encouragement. But keep telling me about how negative we are.

KP, you know the real reason, Legally, I would assume he couldn’t tell you for certain. I remember about 4-5 articles either written by you or your staff that showed Gundy in an unfavorable light. Most coaches have egos, and you damaged it. Remember to be unbiased, ask yourself ā€œHave we done a critical look on coach Boytonā€ I don’t believe so. Gundy also probably didn’t care for the Mike Holder podcast where he said ā€œGundy should recruit better.ā€ All this adds up…and I think that’s what possibly caused it.

The way I look at it…I believe most of your subs are between the ages around 25-35? Give or take 5 years. With that being said, A number of your subs don’t remember the Pat Jones / Bob Simmons days. Gundy is the best coach we’ve had ever. And I truly believe if he walks out this year (which I do think after everything) that could happen. We have an 80% chance becoming a Nebraska.

I’m not telling you how to do your job, I really enjoy the podcast. But we need to remember to be careful where we tread. And be careful of coaches ego’s. Even the best coach in Oklahoma State History can come up with a ā€œreasonā€ to ban PFB.

Keep up the great work…

So if you’re critical, you’re out? Got it. Not gonna be anybody left, my man.

Guys, this is INSANITY. The entire thing is completely ludicrous. The person who hollered about how his players were liberal snowflakes for transferring and not sticking out their time in Stillwater is mad about … what exactly? Because we were critical of what? Going 15-11 over the last two years? Not playing for the Big 12 title in 2017? Not recruiting to the level we think he should? What exactly is the reason for the anger that everyone keeps talking about? Show me the posts he’s upset with. Bring your receipts.

And don’t bring me that China virus and OAN stuff. That happened after he called me. But bring the rest of it. Literally drop the links in here so I can see them.

Note: I’m not speaking for Mike Gundy, but my guess would be this podcast with Holder. You basically got the man’s boss to say he wasn’t doing a good job. To my recollection, you were the first source to get Holder to admit to it. As I said, I could be wrong. But no one wants to hear that from their boss on a podcast. Holder and Gundy should have spoken about this in private. And maybe they have before??

In the same aspect if someone called CBS on live TV and talked about KP does a horrible job reporting golf (just an example). You wanted want to hear it that way, right?

But I know you were just doing your job.

Again, this is my guess on what started it giving the timeline??

Mike Holder’s $17 Million Problem

Timeline.

Surely Holder had brought that up in meetings before and it’s not like this is something that isn’t obvious to every OSU fan.

Recruiting at the level we do means you have to hope for lightning to strike to win conference titles.

This was after the phone call.

Oh it’s very obvious…but the environment that it was brought up on a Blog/Podcast … I would assume it pissed Gundy off. You always want to hear negative remarks in private, but he is a public figure. I’m not defending Gundy, I’m just saying …If I was a betting man…that is what caused it.

You can be critical but does it have to be in a way that attacks his personal traits rather than his coaching traits? I think your totally missing the point here. You can handle criticism but it’s gone too far when it starts by judging you’re personal opinions rather than the coaching itself. As long as Gundy treats his players equally fair regardless of his political views then the OAN debacle becomes irrelevant and PFB should not have even made a big deal out of it let alone post an article about it for everyone to see.

If that is the reason and/or our error, then I don’t even know what to say. Would be astonishing.

Again, I’ll wait here all day for you guys to bring me all the awful stuff we wrote about Gundy pre-March 3, 2020. Links, excerpts, I want to see all of it.
