Grundy’s contract terms is a Non-issue if the powers that be (admin & boosters) decide to hold Gundy to account over these recent comments. There are 3 contract clauses that could be called upon. 2 of the clauses address ‘behavioral’ issues. 1 clause addresses the # of days OSU has to serve notice on the auto renewal date etc. All 3 of which could be called upon to drive down the buyout terms etc…point is…if admin and boosters want him gone this year or next… they now have the LEVERAGE to do so

Compare the press conferences for Coach Lutz to Gundy. Lutz is eager, specifically knows what areas to improve on and ready to address them in practice. He doesn’t focus on the win but what he can do to improve the team.
Gundy comes out saying “we were outcoached” every week and “I didn’t quite agree with the schemes”. His results say everything about him. Poor recruiting, lack of experienced backups, crappy game plans/adjustments, unmotivated team, etc. Now his character is really to be questioned. I have been a Gundy supporter until recently. I may be wrong but I don’t think Gundy can course correct at this point. Too many things point towards him not having the passion to maintain a winning program.

Kind of the synopsis of all of this is that this place has had tremendous success for 18 and a half years or 19 – I can’t do the math real good. But unfortunately in life, most people are weak, and as soon as things start to not go as good as what they thought, they fall apart and they panic. And then they want to point the finger and blame other people.
So in the sentence immediately preceding the “insult” he’s talking about the OSU football program. Then he makes the controversial comment. How can one say that he’s not referring to those criticizing his program?
